Time to got bed, earlier than usual. I’ve had a lazy evening and barely did anything but casually surf internet and then watch an episode from ST: Enterprise. Sometimes not doing anything is just the thing you want to do…
Nighties lovelies!
Also: all images are real, taken from Rossetta’s backlog of 400,000 photographs
This was the last transmission from this new refurbished iPhone .
For some reason, the display screen stopped working after this (or shortly after, while taking panoramic photos of a huge CAT plant ).
I was then taking time-lapse photos, and the screen went out with around 30% power remaining on the battery.
I remember seeing videos of stores trying to overcharge clients for screen replacement services of around $60 or so, if not more, when the fix was easy.
I have to try to find the easy solution to this again.
I think the host had a way to do it, after you find those special iPhone screwdrivers.
New! FUN TO IMAGINE with Richard Feynman - COMPLETE in HIGHER RESOLUTION
Turns that I’ve played 8,888 battles in World of Warships. I am a little impressed at my stubbornness and stupidity…
On other news, I’ve removed the bandage on my foot. It was very loose and didn’t held the fingers together so I guess my toe just can work back on its own. Hasn’t hurt nor bothered for days now…
And now i’m off to bed. nighties lovelies!
Also: today I’ve seen an analphabet, an old man in his 70s. He didn’t attended school and apparently is dyslexic and can’t tell head from tails, and at his age he just lets his wife do the reading and writing.
I already had seen an analphabet before; she was a Moroccan woman in her 40s who tried to hide it, but the fact is, she always was asking her son to dial on the phone, or write up quotations, or check the tickets “to tell to his father”, or tell me the telephone numbers… her birth rate was indetermined on her ID card (just had the year!).
a unit of cultural information, as a concept, belief, or practice, that spreads from person to person in a way analogous to the transmission of genes. Word origin of ’ meme ’ short for mimeme: both coined by R. Dawkins (1941- ), Brit biologist ? < mimesis + -eme.
Akat Mountains is one of my favorite EVE themes, I love the progression it makes as if a expedition was going on towards a goal. Glory? The unknown? Adventure? Who knows. EVE was so full of potential… then ended like this now.
Time to go to bed. I am enjoying the stories from Star Trek Enterprise, although i’m just on the first season, slowly progressing forward without any hurry.
And now I’m off to bed. Nighties lovelies!
Also: note to self: never ask a Turk about whether he wants to see your memes…
(…on the other hand, in Spanish “mama” is the technical term for breast (as in “mamary whatever”), but also “mamá” (with stress on the last a) is “mom”. The action of sucking milk from a breast is “mamar”, and also “mamar” is slang for fellation (in Spain) and drinking alcohol (specially in LatAm, but also in Spain). Mixing ms and as in Spanish leads to all kind of funny things…)
I tried to find where Akat Mountains is, but I could not find it.
I thought it had to do with Long-Limb Roes (or, Rows), but, it seems it may not be.
The link I posted it not from EVE Online.
I thought it was from EVE Online when I posted it, but it’s from Avatar.
I read the first book in 1984 or 1983.
I had that book, which, by the way, was the same book as the first Star Trek Movie, was about the same time that I had the Star Wars book.
Star Wars came out in 1977 and Star Trek, the Motion Picture in 1979.
I then had the Wrath of Khan, which is the 2nd Star Trek movie book.
Sorry, but I cannot post all of them. Richard Feynman was an inspirational teacher and could illuminate many esoteric concepts in physics with his contagious enthusiasm.
In the past I read his his biography that was translated into Turkish, since I couldn’t find it in English. I strongly recommend it. It’ll make you laugh and ponder about how narrow minded people around him could be.
I’m sure that people not around him are even more narrow minded people.
For in case you don’t know, he was probably one of the lead scientist on the Manhattan project, in relation to ballistic defense and treaties.
You don’t want to have too big of a gap, so that a 0.001 second lets a city destroying blow go through.
See the temperature scales page for a review of Celsius, Kelvin, and other scales, along with formulas to convert from one to the other. Liquid helium boils at -268.93 Centigrade (4.2 Kelvin). Helium does not freeze at atmospheric pressure. Only at pressures above 20 times atmospheric will solid helium form.

RocketLab have become the leading dedicated smallsat launch provider with their small Electron rocket able to launch 150kg into low earth orbit for about 5million dollars. As a private space company they’ve been getting lots of comparisons to SpaceX but until now the CEO Peter Beck had maintained that unlike SpaceX they would not be reusing rockets. On Tuesday they announced that the company had plans to develop this technology, using an entirely passive booster descent profile and capture by a Helicopter.
And they’re not the only launch provider looking seriously at recovering and reusing rocket hardware, this week China launched a Long March 2C rocket with grid fins steering the booster to its final impact point.
