Well, I don’t know exactly why the bull was on the loose. Looks like some kind of accident. There are some popular games involving running along with young bulls/cows but those are held in towns and streets, not on open fields without shelters. So, one single bull chasing one single guy looks like something accidental. BTW the shirtless guy making weird howl-like screams (like, hooh hooh hooh), that’s a call for cattle, used by cattle drivers. He’s trying to draw the bull’s attention away from the guy, the vehicles and the whole rescue.

Anyway, running along with bulls/cows, even if young ones, or playing hit and go with them in a bullring, is dangerous. This summer after 2 years without such events because of Covid there’s been a streak of fatal accidents, with 7 people dead so far. All of them tourists/foreigners, IIRC.

This kind of bull games without killing or harming the bull are popular in most of the Mediterranean shore of Spain. They’re controversial because animals get very stressed and sometimes are harmed and people also get harmed… and then some of the traditions are on the really crazy side. Like this:

Yes. People play to draw the attention and then flee (or hit and go) a young bull/ox with fireballs tied to its horns. Because, tradition. And a very primal mix of fear and worship of the mighty herbivore with deadly horns.

And now i’m off to bed after trying to explain something I never thought I would be explaining.

Here’s the ultimate “gaming” movie (for me anyway). If you never saw it, try to, you won’t regret it. If you can’t, just become a player with Consumer Recreation Services…

Yesterday (for August 30th) we had some freak hail storms aorund my neck of the woods. The largest piece of hail measured 11 cm, well above the former record of 7 cm. On top of causing extensive damage to crops, cars and roofs, the absolutely freakest part of the largest hail storm was that a large piece of hail struck a toddler 20 months old on the head, and poor little girl died a few hours later at the hospital from the concussion. Apparently the girl was in her father’s arms and they were at a internal courtyard of a building* playing to collect fallen pieces of hail with a dustpan when a large piece of hail fell from the clouds and struck the toddler on the head. Nobody would want to be that father… :pensive:

*something like this, don’t know if it even has a name in English:

Nighties lovelies! Stay clear from large hail dropping from the clouds even if, or specially if, it is unheard of in your country!

But I like warmth. I hope the future will be warm. Something like 50 M years ago level of warm.

Meanwhile, on the other side of planet, a lot is happening too, but there are only few to document it.

Meanwhile around here in Catalonia…

This was recorded quite east from the hail storms (which moved roughly NW to SE). Just look at whatever freak hail rocks splash the pool and the fist-sized hail on the grass…

It takes a lot of energy to drive such a storm. That means a lot of heat. And next autumn will be interesting once cold air at heights meets the goddam overheated, moist soup we’ve been in for months. Sea water at 30º C in a place were 200 milimeters of rain in 24 hours are not unheard of…

(Yet on the other hand, we’ll be wearing t-shirts until November…)

Time to go to sleep… nighties lovelies!

Also: they’re simple, reliable and run Windows 98. And many business need exactly this…

It makes sense, if your factory uses perfectly fine machines from 20 years ago which were computer controlled by a PC on Windows 98, sooner or later you’ll run out of old PCs to run your machinery, unless someone manufactures modern PC with all the older stuff and a brand new, legit copy of Windows 98…?

Good old Anthony from LTT. That man knows his stuff. His expertise is in Linux, thus even though all of his videos are quite good; the ones that he explains how to install and game on Linux are totally on another level.

Timezone lovelies.
