Indeed, I am enjoing that every day of my life.

Just like the people in Somalia.

They even sometimes fly planes and enjoy landings.

I’m going to bed today. That’s nothing new, so probably I shoudl keep this oen short: nighties lovelies!

Also: if you think you can do better, then do it yourself!

“Are you nervous?” “Yes, it’s the first time I’m beheaded”

Time to go to bed… nighties lovelies!

Also: huh, reimagining SF characters as Pixar cartoons with Midjourney because

…I’m not sold on the idea. Ripley* and the Alien look like about to hang out for a cup of tea, but the Terminator is kind of scary… or Pixar-scary at least…

*I guess it’s Ripley, although the uniform and background were seriously misleading me on who she was.

Here’s something to make your day after a Midjourney scare:

We all love space ships.

And for those of you who also love antique ships I have this to share.

Impressive.

I remember reading books with those ships in them, one I remember was Robinson Crusoe.

Good read, whatever age we are living in.

Also pirates.

Hardwood had that nasty habit of becoming shrapnel when hit…

I watched the video. That’s not a ship, that’s a floating citadel! Not one millimetre wasted.

Back in university days we analyzed that book to death in 18th Century Novel course. I found Crusoe’s father’s speech in the early parts, in fact, the beginning of the book very profound. One can find a free copy of the book on Project Gutenberg’s website.

Speaking of pirates(I intend the pun):

Almost all movies set in that period has tricorne hats and spyglasses. It has become a TV trope.

Also: those days when you steal 50,000 BTC from the funny dudes at Silk Road…

The dude just got away with stealing from thieves and thugs and then the Fed wondered how did he own 3 billion $ hidden in a can of Cheetos… :tipping_hand_woman:t2:

There is this movie. About humans trying to save earth from coming apart.

They’re always trying to save the earth in these movies  usually BIG ACTION AND DESTRUCTION to hide the bad acting and bad fx

I saw something made by an AI on Facebook.
It was a 9 second long video of a dark skinned, afro haired, fit female walking on a podium.
It was made from hundreds of frames of photos to create the effect of moving.
There were consistencies and inconsistencies though.
Her hair and face looked ok, while her right hand’s and arm varied at two or three points in that 9 seconds.
Like her hand was near her other at her front(over her stomach) in some frames and in few of them her hand and arm was resting at her side or held behind her back.
It is obvious that the AI was trained on real life models.
Nevertheless it is an incredible feat.

Also: you know, the thing about using only 10% of our brain is bullsheet, but then…

The man has a IQ of 75 to 84 and leads a normal life after severe diseases suffered as an infant, toddler and teen which apparently killed most of his brain, but what was left took over the burden succesfully…

Also: atomic fusion is anything but easy…

…the Sun itself barely manages to fuse some atoms in extreme conditions of pressure and temperature where nothing other than plasma (= atoms whose electrons evaporated away) exists. We might never be able to control the conditions of constant fusion, tryign to push together stuff whch doens’t wnats to be together and has milions of degrees of energy to oppose being together, on top of pretty strong atomic forces that also repel them.

Its better to get free energy from sun than to make sun on earth. We can get huge but light mirrors in orbit and they will reflect energy to earth. Something like that thing you posted some time ago that was in tests and I thought they will melt the earth. :stuck_out_tongue:

That is still a temporary solution as these mirrors would be subjected to micro-meteorites and other space debris that have accumulated since the 60’s. I doubt they would last twenty years safely in orbit.
This is what we need to build… I had the schematics here somewhere…
