But not with worthy targets for the most part. Killing noobs turned into a noble sport with those rule changes. Many pro’s switched to that for that very reason. Now noobs cry gank (I griffed, not ganked. There is a difference.) and we have the game as it is now.

“Worthy targets” is a nebulous concept. If one is training on paper targets, they are worthy because they permit the person to hone his skills.
Quite a few of those Gank Threads are started by characters with several years in. It’s too easy to blame everything on noobs.
