Time to go to sleep… night night lovelies!

Also: a lucky band of brothers…

Photograph: The Lysenko brothers, all 10 served in WW2 and all 10 returned home. Photographed here sometime in the 1970s at the small Ukrainian village of Brovakhy.

Like, a literal band of brothers. Probably didn’t serve together, but their parents were very lucky to see 10 sons go to war and welcome back 10 men and no casquets.

Wonder what side they served on,. Ukraine eventually fought for germany , having an SS division of their own for the Bandrite nazis , who killed 100000 jews and 120000 polish civilians. They were not prosecuted though, being useful to the west killing russians after the war as russia was designated as the new enemy after the fall of germany.

Bandera remains a highly controversial historical figure. Many Ukrainians, particularly in the west, view him as a martyred freedom fighter and symbol of resistance against Russian domination. Others, especially in the south and east, condemn him as a fascist and Nazi collaborator whose followers committed mass atrocities.

If you think that’s bad, modern Ukraine is trying very hard to rehabilitate Bandera.

Can’t read Russian. If it’s that important, you would have translated it. Also, against the forum rules or I would be posting a lot more links. Just saying…

Oh do behave and learn russian while you at it.

Rules are there to be broken.

They were in the red army and served as infantrymen, pilots, tank operator, artillery, medics, and communications officer. Also they were Ukrainians.

I felt a bit bad about turning down Frotpacker’s Marriage Proposal so I have found the perfect bride for him - Raven

She like Zaera , is expensive though, 5 billion isk for a 1st date , in a graveyard of you choice, payable to me in advance.

She is a vegatarian, likes wordsalad and spending money, the more the better. The way to her heart is through your wallet, she has no tolerance for tightwads.

Her goal in life is to be bitten and become a vampire like Zaera, whom she worships.

Also: if you go to war, don’t need to go alone.
