Whiskey Tango Foxtrot…? Today I learned that, in order to get inside Barcelona Cathedral, everybody needs to get a ticket first. People from the city get it for free, showing your ID, but I am seriously conflicted about this matter. Maybe once or twice a year I use to drop by the Cathedral and pray at one of the chapels and light a candle, and last time I was already shocked to see that there was a gift shop(!) at one of the chapels in the cloister… and now this? Get a ticket like it’s some amusement park?
I understand the logic of it, to limit the crowds inside, but… seriously… getting a ticket to go in and pray??
(I just checked and there’s at least one other chapel for the same saint at a less popular church. Might go and check, probably the walk there won’t be as scenic as the Gothic Quarter around the Cathedral and being a small church might close outside of mass hours… but no tickets required)
Wouldn’t surprise me if we paid a yearly Church-Goers’ tax in a few years.
I mean, everything is taxed now; we even pay to exist.
There’s even going to be a poop tax, too.
I can’t even go near one.

If you don’t mind, could you explain how praying to a saint works? I know Christianity is already kind of polytheistic in that you consider Jesus to be a god also, but how do the saints figure into that? Many of them have perfectly well documented lives so it’s not like there was immaculate conception or something to explain how they became/were created divine, so is it like they rose to godhead when they died or something?

This isn’t the place.
Why are you asking Yiole religious subjects? She’s not a theologian.
If you really want religious answers go to an Imam/Rabbi or even a Priest, or any other philosopher/studious person.

Yes. But not here. This forum is Politics/Religion-free. All that will happen is the posts being deleted by one of the forumlords and time wasted.
