Massacring two cities worth of civilians wasn’t what made them surrender, they were quite ready to continue fighting through that. What made them decide to surrender to the USA was Stalin beginning an invasion from the north. They expected less harsh terms from the USA than from the Soviet Union.
Which saved them from the third planned bomb.
Interestingly enough, the fissile core for that bomb was what later came to be known as the “Demon Core”.
Bombing civilians is how do you say …a warcrime.

There were no warcrimes in the past tho. I suspect there will be no warcrimes in the future too.
Everything will be resolved with sticks and stones again.
Your photo like everything else, looks so much better with me in it.
Just ordered a bicycle helmet, they wanted to know my date of birth, unfortunatly the calender didn’t go back 300 yaears. . I wonder what they would have said if I had clicked on the today button?
Congratulations on being born today. Please enjoy your new helmet immediately

Just a child with a toy gun, but your brain pauses for an instant.
- The Atomic Bombings: The U.S. dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and on Nagasaki on August 9.
- The Soviet Invasion: On August 9, 1945, the Soviet Red Army launched Operation August Storm, invading Japanese-occupied Manchuria in northern China.

Edit; Stain didn’t decide to invade until he was sure Japan was beaten.

Stalin didn’t want to split resources on a two-front war. The Japanese had agreed to a non-aggression pact after Zhukov’s decisive victory in Khalkhin Gol, and defeating Germany took priority for obvious reasons.
No idea what point you think you’re making by pointing out the dates. Hirohito announced that “the war situation has developed not necessarily to Japan’s advantage” on August 15th.
History is boring. But what I have learnt in the last 250 years though is it that if in doubt , blame the yankee doodles.
Here’s a video from the 1750s:

OMG SUCH CUTE BUGS
In Spanish: colémbolo
In English: springtail
They have a tiny “tail” folded under their belly, it’s a locked spring device and they can release it to jump 15x to 100x their body length in a fraction of a second. They also walk on water because they’re tiny (typical springtails are about 1 to 3 mm long) and their legs are waterproof.
I didn’t knew what they could be until I saw one with the tiny tail deployed and folding it under the belly, then browsed my memory for their name and got it.
One learns the strangest things as a voraciously curious child and then remembers them 40+ years later…
When it just vanished from one frame to the next, I thought “Oh, it’s AI”. Then I saw the one where it folded its tail beneath itself and realised “Oh, it’s like a shrimp”. They’re very cute.
Jesus, even the bugs in Japan are radioactive anime Poke’-Mon.
