Not really. She stayed in her town most of her life.

That’s sexism. They should’ve been able to dress however they wanted.
Also “Iran Air”… that sounds scary now.

Back in 1979 before the revolution Iran was a pretty cool place if you didn’t mind the kidnaps, torture and dissapearence/murder of anyone voicing the wrong thing. Like the old man who was tortured after stating that weather was hot and fish would spoil fast, which led the secret police to think that fish spoils first by the head, which means that one must take off the head, which meant that the Sha was rotten and had to be removed, so down with the traitor they went. The Sha’s Iran was a mighty dangerous place to speak about anything short of praising the Sha in the same terms and wording as used by propaganda… with care to not be misled by ill-willed fake propaganda spread by the secret police to catch traitors. But for rich people and tourists? Damn cool place. The top of the top in the regime wouldn’t be bothered to fly to Paris for a fine dinner, they’d rather fly in personnel from the finest restaurants to Tehran to cook their dinner and then fly them back to Paris. Of course, that meant that the restaurant had to close for that night, but money was not an issue for those on top of the Sha’s Persia.

(If you ever stumble upon a copy of Ryszard Kapuscinski’s book “Shah of shahs”, you should read it. One can’t blame the Iranian people, really…)

Hello, @Rain6637 Welcome. The Like and Get Likes thread is the best thread on this forum. We post interesting things and others like ( or don’t like ) and you can see interesting things and also like ( or don’t like ).
All forum rules apply but there is no need for egoistic antics, although trolls manage to infiltrate here too.
Apparently there is no stopping a troll.
