I think we’re looking this from different angles: the ability to have feelings vs. showing/executing feelings without self-control plus the feelings one has never experienced.

I was thinking, lets just put a silly pool and see where it will end. Actually nobody said its silly! Maybe because it had feelings and money in it, maybe because serious(?) choice one would have to make. But silly pool and silly question nonetheless.
