Yes, the end felt somewhat cheap, not very entertaining also. But the series overall were a nice, original take on mecha genre I think.

The point is that the end showed that the auhor was deeply depressed when he wrote it, so it was… depressing… nonsensical… and so full of self-important bullsh*t that really spoiled the series for me.

BTW you just gotta love the imagination on videogame covers from the 80s… any ressemblance to reality was impossible.
