I think you can shoo them away even with rookie ship, just shoot one of them and warp away, come back after a minute and they will be gone.

If you warp away fast, they will not catch you. As for standings, I dont think agression means something for them, only fact of kill or destruction. I may be wrong tho, I never watched standings for them.

Did a bit of digging around and here is what I found:
Capsuleers who engage the mining fleet operation get a standing hit from related NPC corporation. The loss is very small, either -0.0667% or -0.08% per ship kill. Fighting the mining fleets incurs no faction standing losses. A capsuleer with good standings with the defence fleet will get repairs from defence fleet if attacked by someone else.

I went shooting them right after the patch went live in my Black Ops. I sure wasn’t prepared for what was coming 
Was slowly running low on cap boosters, so I cleared tackle and warped off. Left them alone since then.

You can equip all DPS gank hekate with polarized weapons and destroy just the hauler then warp out. I have seen somone doing that and he searched for the haulers with directional scan. There was you tube video somewhere, I dont remember how it was called tho.
You have to start aligning before the hauler blows up to warp out faster. Also you have to come back for the loot just after a minute.

I just blew one up with my mission alt, used the raven navy issue, stayed align and at top speed, the very moment the hauler died about 12 frigs warped in, it was time to GTFO XD
