Good morning LAGLers! Yesterday I was thinking about how every country haves the troubles it deserves, relative to Spain’s crazy waste on dubious infrastructures (like, a 40 miilion euro airport used by 70 people a year, or more recently, a high velocity rail link that’s actually slower, more expensive and less reliable than the ordinary trains using the same link) when I heard of the shooting in the USA. Culture, customs, law and society interact in all strange ways to ensure that every country gots the troubles it deserves… but some national troubles are more tragical than others. 
Also: Spain contributes 3 out of 11 “white elephants” listed in this article. Onward and upward!

Parsing raw DNS packages and I only got garbage as a result… Guess why…
headersize += 4 * ip->ihl;
int offset = ( 4 * ip->ihl ) + headersize;
ns_initparse(buf+offset, msglen, &dnsmsg);
Because of course it’s stupid to add the ip header size twice to the offset 
And no, this code isn’t clean. It’s just writing some ■■■■■■■■ together to test it first and then writing clean code once I figured it out

Negative publication bias is the bane of social sciences. “Sorry, there’s nothing to see here” is not deemed an acceptable result for a research on a social science, but… what if there really isn’t anything to see? Or what is to see, is what we already see without research?
Men and women are different. But also individual men and women are different too. And all is good if a woman loves a engineering and develops a fruitful carreer in it, and all is good if a man loves teaching and becomes an awesome teacher for special kids.
