The like and get likes thread

When I used to not carry one I needed it all the time. Every since then I cant remember the last time I wasn’t able to cut something anytime anywhere.

Lost another to Kon-Il Tessura, the Chosen Warlock. But this time it was one of my own soldiers, not a random generated one :sob:

Damn, that’s almost as disturbing as what I just did right before coming here!

I just… just…

I…

I logged into EVE, checked if I could use my old miner Rokh and with what modules, then jumped 18 systems in a pod to retrieve it bought 8x Miner II, jumped 2 systems to fit them, then jumped 4 systems to one of my old bookmarks and mined a hold full of Pyroxeres, then sold them at my bookmarked station in the system. It has taken me nearly one hour, the longest I’ve been to EVE in over a year and a half.

Why, my Lord? Why? :cold_sweat:

Nighties, lovelies.

As a rule, any mention of religion on an online forum degenerates into a religious argument. Why? Why does this happen with religion and not with Javascript or baking or other topics people talk about on forums?

What’s different about religion is that people don’t feel they need to have any particular expertise to have opinions about it. All they need is strongly held beliefs, and anyone can have those. No thread about Javascript will grow as fast as one about religion, because people feel they have to be over some threshold of expertise to post comments about that. But on religion everyone’s an expert.

Used to be true in 2009 when he wrote that article. Today? Most people think themselves experts on everything and spread their FUD all over the internetz.

Paging @ISD_Dorrim_Barstorlode @ISD_Sakimura @ISD_Yumi

ISD team, we got a problem here, there is some troll who flags as inappropiate legitimate messages within the forum guidelines. We don’t know who he is, but it is outrageous to see posts by nice posters be flagged by an anonymous idiot.

Hello! Rest assured I’m keeping an eye on it and it’ll be dealt with in the am. Thank you for the heads up!

I think he got it wrong. One of my teachers used to say that “friends don’t discuss sex, religion and politics”, because opinions on those matters are very strong, very close to a person’s heart and very different.

So it’s not about knowledge, it’s about identity. One person’s views on religion are a part of his identity, and as such, opposition is easily taken personally.
