I tried FF XIV briefly and it didn’t land well with me. I wanted the fancy apparel and dresses, but the combat is full of flashes and sparkles and WOOSH and WHAM and it’s just a mess. I guess that firework & sparkles attacks have a market, but not me. The prospect of grinding through endless firework displays wasn’t appealing at all…
Combined with how my genre is SciFi, not Fantasy, I feel more comfortable with GTA than the average Fantasy title.
By the way, GTA haves an amazing color palette. I noticed while I was cleaning my glasses and had a picture on screen, looking at it without my glasses it was just a bunch of color blobs, and it was like seeing an actual photograph. The colors are photorealistic, totally +1.
