Sorry, I’m a little unclear.

Why, precisely, is that a bad thing?

Hah, It doesnt show to me because I use Adblock for years. :slightly_smiling_face:

I keep ads up because I’m too stoopid to figure out how to shut them off.

However, I dont necessarily consider that bad until they come to my house and force me to buy them. Near as I can tell, I still have choice to shop around if I like.

vOv

Guess I’m just an oddity.

Morning Lulu!!

Have a Minnesota “like”!

It’s anti-competitive behavior. Stifling innovation and killing off competitors with a unrelated market monopoly.

Here in the EU there are still sane politicians left that aren’t going to bribe themselves into corruption.

That is awesome, Plex tanking indeed ftw!! :ok_hand:

Actually, forget what i said earlier about blocking it. I noticed it actually shows but I never thought its Google and never thought about shopping by using this. Its like you live with something and start to ignore it every time you see it and then it just pops into your view someday and you think, hey, its that thing! :astonished:

If you were to own a coffee shop and you advertised your store, would you then advertise the competition’s coffee just to be “fair and unbiased”??

Nobody is forcing you to buy the crap from Google despite the fact they are shoving it in your face.

Being first means a lot to many people.

Is your coffee shop a global monopoly with >90% market share?

I never really liked the way Google throws ads in your face when looking at things. Always annoyed me personally.

That coffee shop tho, I could use for a nice cup of coffee.

So…there are no other places for you to buy goods?

Google may have a huge market share, but I’m sure that there is a store that sells what you’re looking for somewhere moderately close to where you are now.

Google isn’t forcing you to do anything. They are encouraging you to buy from them. People are lazy. Thats how Google became a global monopoly. Dont click on the first thing you see then complain about monopoly.

That “you” wasn’t meant specifically AT you, Linus. It was meant to be a “general” you.
