It gives CCP Devs an excuse to collect pay checks without actually fixing any of the numerous issues with the game itself.

Yes please. This is exactly why I generally refuse to wipe my cache, because it also nukes my UI layouts on literally hundreds of characters and dozens of accounts. Forcing me to have to re-setup all of them manually again.
Because the most pressing issue every morning when I wake up is “What year is it?”

It’s because you are not a time traveler like the rest of us. 
The new UI is fantastic! I think everything was done incredibly well.
The most pressing thing in my opinion is the side effect of no login screen and that it added an extra step to claim daily rewards. At least it’s highlighted when you login, but I feel it was easier to be greeted by the daily reward screen.

Works great, except for claiming daily rewards. I often log in a set of characters after downtime that are not the characters who should get the rewards. An extra login for every account just to claim rewards is a bit onerous.
Best would be if even with a character already logged in, we could redeem the rewards to another character on the account.

CCPlease, if you read topic about running under Linux, please add steamuser for exception to run as administrator, it will fix all problems with running EVE in Steam on Linux platform (with using wine-proton). Thank you.

thought I would be clever and specify a different location for shared cache to switch back and forth. It seems to have remvoved the old shared cache and set everything to default.
Does anyone know where the market quickbar or overview was stored?

Define a launcher group with accounts but no character selection. You’d land on the “classic” character selection screen.
The whole purpose of the new launcher seems to give us the possibility to preselect a character, which has very few use cases.
Displaying data related to the characters should be trivial, since the APIs to get that information are even publicly accessible (given appropriate authorization).
In conclusion - a lot of fanfare for trivial rewards.

Would it be possible not to enforce capitalization rules on launcher group names? If I name something JF, I would like it to stay JF, not Jf. Thanks.

How do I open the new launcher after it has been installed ? After a reboot when I click on the EvE Launcher it loads up the old one and I have to go through the re-install process to get the new launcher back up and running. Surely there is a process other than re-installing it to get it back ?

When I start launcher today nothing shows up. The window is entirely black. Doing Refresh from Task menu makes the screen showing some space themed background graphics for a blink then there is only cog spinning in the center, It worked fine yesterday 
After another and another try it finally loaded up. I then tried to start LogLite from launcher task menu. Clicked it with LMB instead of RMB by mistake and it closed down. Now it shows black screen again after starting evelauncher again. After clicking task icon with LMB on purpose it closes down and finally starts again. Quite unreliable behavior and quite frustrating.
Nothing beside chrome browser with few tabs opened is running on my system now.
My specs: Win 10 Pro, 32GB RAM, Intel i7 6 cores, NVIDIA Quadro P620 4GB RAM DX12, not great but minimum req are met with some surplus
For some reason the beta launcher has started becoming extremely unresponsive after my PC has been on for longer than an hour or two. Double click it, nothing. Double click it again, nothing. Spam the ■■■■ out of it, still nothing. Right click it and run as administrator, yep still nothing. It won’t even start up without me rebooting my machine.
I now have to reinstall the game (and waaaaaait for those GBs to download) everytime I want to play EVE. So technically I should never turn the game off from now on.
CCP is it your plot to keep us loggedin indefinitely 
?

I can play now without reinstalling. I had to search my whole computer for anything CCP/EVE related and delete it for launcher reinstallation to work. Including windows registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\CCP)
Why does the uninstalling the game leaves anything behind?

Guess I have posted to the wrong “launcher thread”. My problems described above are with the present official (old?) launcher. I have not tested new beta launcher yet. I suspect the old launcher got confused when I had chosen different folder every time I reinstalled the game.
So what? Deal with that, will you? You old launcher…
ill bet they haven’t written a decent uninstaller yet for the beta lancher - may even just be deleting the files
