Abother thing is that all your settings are moot if you access the Forums without loging in… I do that quite a lot to just read the last post of a feedback thread

Yep.
Minimalist works best for conveying information, IMO.
If /r/eve wasn’t so toxic I’d mostly use it over the official forums for that reason.
On the old.old forum, we didn’t see any signatures before we had logged in anyways (if you had signatures turned on in the settings). Yes, i have been playing EVE since April 2004, so i know how the old forum was and that

Signatures are not supported by official Discourse (excluding third-party plugin of unknown quality and security.
Aside from that IMO there is no reason for EVE devs to spend time implementing feature that will clutter posts beyond reason with cheesy pictures.
OP, if the absence of signatures prevents you from using this forum, maybe you just finding the reasons not to use it? Keep using reddit and enjoy that shitpost\meme-ridden dev-hating junkyard /r/Eve turned into over the last couple of years.
You can’t remove features and call it an upgrade.
They actually added a lot of features. You just failed to notice them behind that “it’s not a reddit” rant.
Signatures would be cool imo. And Im all for the no graphical signatures. The old Eve forums were crap when we had them and I was on Frugalsworld and had to turn off the signatures for the scrolling, reading and endless spew they were in the end.
Id only add support to graphical sigs if a) small enough size, and b) they were separate to the text signatures with options to turn both on or off.
just paste your signature image into every single post
I’m not saying it’s a good idea or that it adds anything to a discussion whatsoever, but there is a way
