Niche games are just like a wart faced troll hiding between the crevices of two rocks along side of a busy road.
Eventually no one will travel the road any longer.
In order the Niche Troll to begin a Prince and then a King…the troll has to stop hiding in crevices between rocks.
Yet this “niche” game is one of the longest-running MMO’s in gaming history…

The simple answer is because CCP did a lot of things right with this game. Like got a working economy, then worked on balance.

Let me give a better analogy.
Niche games are that secret place that everyone may have heard of, but is too far away or difficult to get to.
Normies only have hearsay and so create their own silly ‘theories’ about the place - never actually checking it out for themselves, but for those who do bother to make the trek, they find something magical.
If the trek becomes easier, like a new road that caters to normies, then the beauty and wildness of the place will be spoiled.

Might I suggest that living in your shell has made you…well…an ignoramus.
Our community has Broadcast for Reps to help those who are depressed and contemplating suicide. There is PLEX for Good drives. And there are instances where large segements of the community have provided help and support to other community members or their families. Yes, in game we’ll do “terrible” things to each other. Lie, cheat, steal, blow each other up. But for most of us we keep it in perspective, it is a game where you can lie cheat, steal, and blow each other up…but we don’t take it so personally, nor do we consider the other guy an actual bad person IRL.
And then there is you…crying in such a dramatic and ridiculous way on the forums because of…NPCs. Not even some other player who got the better of you…no because of NPCs.
And why is that? Could it be because you have isolated yourself from other players who might have helped you? You have spent your entire time in game in a new player corp. Why? Interacting with others is a way to share information. Maybe you are unaware of patch notes, the forums, reddit, and Eve Universities website, and even things like youtube. But other players are not. Interacting with them is yet another way to pick up critical information as the game changes and evolves over time.
You made a mistake. And here you sit steadfastly refusing to modify your behavior in light of your mistake.

More of the Insanity EVE Online requires! As EVE Players try to have it both ways, “Its a Sandbox” they chant, but “there’s a right and a wrong way to play EVE Online” they tell you whenever they need to make it appear as if it is the person complaining that is in the wrong. EVE Online is a Sandbox, as long as you join a Player Corp, stay in constant contact with your corp members, read patch notes, the forums, visit the EVE Uni website frequently, by which they mean multiple times a day, watch YouTube videos and reddit! Don’t forget the Reddit! So, you see, EVE Online is a Sandbox! You can do whatever you want to, go at your own pace, cause its a Sandbox! But don’t forget to play the Sandbox the right way!

I must says is fun to see people come up with some expert ideas to why eve population is declining and then see other respond as nasty as they can be.
I mean you just have to read the forums and it´s clear as day eve players can be some major A-holes so much their mothers would cry so see that they raised you so well and yet you can´t be decent. But well on the internet no one knows who you are so so your safe from being strangled when being an ass.
My idea why eve population is declining i simple every one has a different taste in games and eve is not for every one.
Eve is rely niche to be honest and there are not super many sci-fi nuts out there.
Then Also eve players tend to take this game way to serious which is bad if you can´t differ real life from video games you may need help.
But yeah games that are popular today are mobas and games like pubg and battle royal it has nothing to do with eve is to hard, eve is simple it´s just a game that take a bit more dedication and time. But it has nothing to do with being hard that´s utter bull. But yeah simple answer is eve is niche and not a type of games that is popular among gamer´s today but that how it is when every one has a different taste in games.
That´s how I see it but I can be completely wrong i´m not expert and do not wanna be an expert in it. Man what a boring job would that be, why is a game not popular doctor.

Eve is not hard plain and simple, dealing with other aggressive players is where the complexity begins. Eve is just the platform provided for us to play out our grand designs.

Bravo Sierra. I did not say there is a right and a wrong way. But that isolating yourself form the rest of the players will come with a cost. If you are not willing to incur that cost, then change your play behavior or leave the game. Stamping your foot like a petulant child and demanding the game be changed to conform to your foolish and imprudent behavior is arrogant and imposes costs on the rest of us who like the game as it is.
Again, if you want to be ignorant and uninformed and then blind sided by these changes…fine. But to complain that you made a choice to be ignorant and uninformed and the consequences that choice engenders that is on you for making such a choice.
And…here is that man-child view I mentioned a few posts back.
Yes…and incur the consequences of those decisions. Grow up.

It really is not worth the effort. Those who are worth it are not going to argue or read this here anyway, and the rest only comes here because they have issues controlling their impulse driven behaviour.

None is crying. I value my time needed to replace my loss. NPC attack was unpredictable and once it started - unescapable. I dont like this “feature”. Yes I was unaware, no its not my mistake. I tried to “interact” with “people” right after my ship was blown up - got lauched at, insulted for ignorance, etc. No I will not sell my ore stash to replace destoryed ship because I dont like the prices, I feel like its too low ISK for way too much risky efforts, for me its unfair. No I dont like the idea of joining corporations because as you correctly mentioned - “lie cheat, steal, and blow each other up” and I dont know means how to differ nice guys from persons with evil intent to take advantage of me.
No I did not any mistake, I logged in after a year+ of absence and tried to continue where I left, then got myself blown up by newly added NPC gankers feature.
Yes I modified my behaviour by cancelling subscription, because its too stressful, and reward is too little while risk of loss is higher than I can tolerate.
