Which is entirely consistent with nuclear reactors.
Yes, and in the process there will be massive dislocation, famine, destruction of infrastructure and wars as a result.
There are ways it can help to incentivize an overproduction of renewables to stabilize the grid in case of fluctuating demand or production, as I wrote. It doesn’t make it worse. It’s not trying to fix climate change, it’s about a completely different problem. It’s also not reliant on fossil fuel either, that’s entirely an issue of power production and not of consumption.
After I saw what Canada is doing, I decided to try to figure out bitcoin. I live in the US. I attempted to find a way to buy bitcoin . . . but all I can find is a bunch of exchanges that will immediately report any transaction I make to the government. How is that anonymous? Uncle Sam will know exactly which hardware wallet is mine as soon as I put anything into it.
Maybe bitcoin was nice while you could mine it, but I don’t see how it is useful now. As far as I can tell, I can’t buy bitcoin without The Man knowing about it and I can’t sell bitcoin without The Man knowing about it.
Perhaps I am missing something obvious.
Any exchange requires photo ID now. It’s all over since years ago, the silk road has been taken down due to it’s dangers. I enjoyed my 0.95 BTC “tax free” pizza in 2011 when I stopped my miner. The governments caught up, no more going on a dead drop GPS location search for a weapons or other fun stuff while hoping it wasn’t one of the 99.99% of scams of a bad guy that already picked it up and just resold the Geo-location.
Nope, he’s not going to find it…

Canada is currently like a permanent ad for Bitcoin. It’s crazy with what self righteousness they weaponize their power over the financial system in an attempt to silence a protest.
There are various ways how to get Bitcoin without KYC, including full blown decentralized exchanges like Bisq. The US make it particularly annoying it seems. In Switzerland we have even centralized exchanges that don’t require KYC.

Governments used to pretend to follow their own constitutions. At least, I think they did.
Apparently if you are a peaceful protester your funds get frozen immediately. If you are a war criminal you get 30 days to move the funds.
I think that is all a really good demonstration why no gouvernment should have that power.
They don’t call themselves “war criminals” - in fact they are philanthropists that contribute to the Clinton and Gates foundations.
Peaceful protest isn’t blocking supplies eventhough it’s a passive agression, it will still affect the civilians.
Pursuant to Article 8(2)(b)(xxv) of the 1998 ICC Statute, “[i]ntentionally using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare by depriving them of objects indispensable to their survival, including wilfully impeding relief supplies as provided for under the Geneva Conventions” constitutes a war crime in international armed conflicts.
So ironically the hobby war criminals got their asset frozen because they didn’t have many accounts and assets.
The professional war criminals have their assets spread over a lot of accounts, resources and even businesses, which makes blocking their assets a little more difficult.
#TheMoreYouKnow
PS: I looked it up and you were dishonest! Their assets got locked up AFTER WEEKS OF PROTEST. Why do you always blatantly lie about things anyone can google?
Obviously in canada protests is not what what is a gamechanger. Alternatives can be more drastic and more damaging. Its when the particular people in charge of government fail, when they make angry people even angrier. Memory fades, but emotional scars heal with difficulty, some people in charge will face consequences of their arrogant behavior, and thats it.
Bitcoin is not a solution, right people is solution.
I hope you didn’t honestly think that was somehow a good argument to cite the Geneva convention in an attempt to make those blockades look like a war crime? That’s so stupid I don’t even know what to say man
How many Canadians starved to dead because they where cut off from water and bread because of the convoi?
Wait, they unfroze the assets of war criminals?
Dude, the reason why it was unfrozen was because that was actually unlawful. That doesn’t mean it didn’t happen and that the government had the power to unlawfully restrict access to peoples money. The fact that all turned out fine this time doesn’t mean we can just ignore what happened. If anything the people in power will now probably make sure that next time they can freeze and seize it for good.
Yeah because you can always pick and chose the people that are in power of such things and that will always stay the same. If I would have told you this would happen in Canada of all places a year back you would not have believed me.
I think you don’t realize that Bitcoin will not go away. It is now there constantly, creating blocks like clockwork, no matter what happens, no matter who raises to power and who falls, completely independent of politics and every other ■■■■■■■■. And with every fiat currency that fails, with every government that steals from it’s people it will attract more people, because it’s the only thing that can’t get corrupted because it doesn’t change.
Either you understand that or you stay ignorant and will see it happen from the sidelines anyway.
It will not go away, but it will be inaccessible, forever.
Is this one of your “everyone will forget how to produce electricity” or “everyone will forget their keys” scenarios?
I suppose, just like entropy doom, eventually all the keys will be lost…
No, they did not declare war so they can’t be war criminals.
They did cause some nuisance for the local hospitals.
Most had issues changing the bitcoin/crypto into normal money.
"Organisers have pledged to keep going “for as long as it takes… until Canada is a free nation again”.
“We’ve heard messages from, for example, pregnant women who are about to give birth and who are nervous they will not be able to come to the hospital. And we also know we have less people showing up to the emergency. So these are concerning.”
No one died, many people were discouraged to use the medical facilities provided by the “evil” government.
Electric… without it there is no crypto, even if you have the ability to make your own. If you want to be ready for a crap storm of uncertainty, buy textiles, nonperishables, and seeds. Ya know, the stuff you can barter with locally.
Even with electricity you can have no access to vallet. it can be blocked by other means. Attacks, phishing, lost keys etc. Its all too vulnerable. What value is it, if you cant use it suddenly one day? Maybe you even make an error, and then the transaction cant be reversed. Its not good.
The major flaw with Bitcoin is that very few people want to exchange it for goods and services. Most of the people who want Bitcoin are idealists and/or speculators.
The Silk Road idealists, you use a very nice word for it.
I was speaking in present tense.
