The standings change required to join the insurgencies are a real kick in the teeth!

The standings change required to join the insurgencies really must have pulled the rug from under a lot of players. I got kicked out of Angles because my standings dropped below the requirement, even though I’d been with them for a year. Pretty frustrating!

I was already in the middle of running the Gurista epic arc so I could swap over when it changed! My base standings with the Guristas were -7.7 since I’d been using them as a punching bag for ages. After finishing the arc, I managed to raise it to around -1.4, which was a solid boost.

I also ran the four COSMOS missions that give standings boosts by turning in gas, but I’m still 0.4 standings short of the requirement. What are my options now? I’d really rather not grind through another long epic arc like the Sisters of EVE one.

Is there a faster way to gain that missing 0.4 base standing? I tried running a few level 1 Gurista missions, but they don’t seem to be moving my faction standings at all. Note, social skills don’t work for this, it’s only base standings that count.

Run enough L1s to get storylines. Only storyline missions impact faction standing.

Buy guri standings from USIA

They gave us plenty of warning time to raise standings by 2.0 imo.

I’m not sure which Pirate Faction Standing you want to boost, Angel or Guristas…

Anyway, 16 regular missions of the same level for the same Faction need to be completed to get a Storyline mission offer for Faction Standing increase…

Social skills may not work to help gain access to Pirate Insurgencies but they do work to help gain access to Epic Arc, Cosmos and regular Agents.. Since you’re working Pirate Faction missions, for maximum standing gains the following Social skills should be trained to level 5 as soon as possible.

1 Diplomacy
2 Social
3 Negotiation
4 Criminal Connections

You can gain positive standing with both Angel and Guristas by bouncing back and forth between them but it’s a long haul since they’re enemy Factions..

Main thing to remember with Cosmos is that Allied Faction Cosmos Agents will give positive derived standings to you, meaning if you’re working on Angel standings, completing Serpentis and The Syndicate Faction missions will also help raise Angel Faction Standings… Course you’ll also incur negative derived standings with their enemy Factions as well…

These are the Allied Pirate Factions:
Angel, Serpentis and The Syndicate…
Guristas, Sansha and Blood Raiders…

So besides running the Level 3 Pirate Epic Arcs which can be run every 90 days, it sounds like you did a few different Null Sec Cosmos Agents for Faction Standing increase… There’s more than 4 Cosmos Agents available for either Angel or Guristas Pirates in Null Sec…

Angel Cosmos - in I-3ODK constellation in Feythabolis (null sec)

Guristas Cosmos - in E-8CSQ in Vale of the Silent (null sec)

There’s also 5 different Angel Cosmos Agents and 5 different Guristas Cosmos Agents located in the High Sec Cosmos Constellations…

High Sec Angel Cosmos Agents
Okkelen Constellation - Vahunomi System - Abandoned Astro Farm (Beacon)

  1. Agent Skurk Tekkurs - Lv 2 (+2.00 standing required)
  2. Agent Anou Dechien - Lv 2 (+2.00 standing required)
  3. Agent Krakan Rost - Lv 3 (+4.00 standing required)

Algintal Constellation - Parchanier System - Latent Transmitter (Beacon)

  1. Agent Trex Ameisoure - Lv 2 (+2.00 standing required)

Ani Constellation - Tvink System - The Crystal Dust Compound (Beacon)

  1. Agent Nassor Tromkurt Lv 4 (+6.00 standing required)

High Sec Guristas Cosmos Agents
Okkelen Constellation - Friggi System - Bandit Hideout (beacon)

  1. Agent Yka Katori - Lv 3 (+4.00 standing required)
  2. Agent Siringwe Opainen - Lv 3 (+4.00 standing required)

Okkelen Constellation - Ihakana System - Hangman’s Hill (Beacon)

  1. Agent Tatsuo Rahkamo - Lv 1 (n/a standing required)
  2. Agent Rie Nissiken - Lv 2 (+2.00 standing required)
  3. Agent Arato Sirkya - Lv 3 (+4.00 standing required)

Hopefully those Agents are still working… I doubt anything has changed on their missions, here’s an old guide for them:

Lastly, I hope you have much success and remember, ‘The Plan’ is still good…

I like to think I’m pretty good at staying updated on any standing changes CCP may implement… However in this case it seems I must have misplaced that memo…

They warned everyone back in june

Well, saying everyone got a warning doesn’t answer the OP’s question and more importantly, repeating it doesn’t make it relevant to the topic…

Especially when it’s obvious not all players got it…

Regardless of that, the OP’s question was how to quickly gain Pirate Faction Standing… That question has been answered so yeah, this thread is done…

The OP is claiming that “a rug was pulled” with these changes. It very much is on topic. People are countering that claim. People not reading information that was available is not a defense, just an excuse.

Starting to think USIA is a desperate attempt by CCP to have an isk sink for PVE players.

No it’s not… It’s an afterthought to the OP’s initial question of how to quickly raise Pirate Faction standing…

Seriously, seems most of the regular people in these forums nowadays just want to nit-pick and focus on the smallest thing and start a forum flame war…

That’s a bunch of BS… I browse these forums quite a bit and I didn’t see any major posts about standing changes…

Easy to see why these forums are a ghost town, always the same few peeps looking to turn a thread into a forum flame war instead of just answering the main question…

Obviously the dirty dozen here just won’t rest until those with a different viewpoint are chased away…

The first sentence of a post is not an afterthought. Maybe stop trying to put words in the OPs mouth.

Most announcements are not posted in the forums, forums are mostly for player discussions. The place to look for announcements is on CCP’s various socials and the EVE Online News - Updates, blogs, events, patch notes & more website. This particular one was in the June update 24/6/25

Some people do want to nit-pick, however the disagreement we are having goes beyond nit-picking. You are just saying outright wrong things.

People had 18 months to fix standings. And CCP can’t do any updates to missions in 18 years. Seems about right.

the 18 months is back when they added the pirate FWs and lowered the threshold for doing the epic arcs. they had it so you could do an epic arc every 14 days.

Now that just sounds unbelievable…

So says the person who couldn’t give an answer to the OP’s question and decided to troll with “They gave us plenty of warning time to raise standings by 2.0 imo.”

it was for the Havoc expansion in 2023

In order to aid capsuleers who need to improve their Angel Cartel and Guristas standings ahead of Havoc’s release, the Angel and Guristas epic arcs have been tweaked to provide a bigger standings boost (up from 30% to 45%) and a shorter cool down period (14 days instead of 90). This tweak to standings and cool down will revert before the end of the year, so be sure to use this opportunity and be prepared for Havoc and Pirate Insurgencies!

Yet here it is.

It’s not that I couldn’t, I didn’t as others have already answered this question.

Then all players should learn to read the patch notes because thats where the information was posted

So sounds like a skill issue to me

I was unaware of the coming changes and admit I did not read the info or read it a while back and forgot. However, I have got in now, it was only 0.04 standings I required and I did one level 1 storyline mission, and that was enough. Thanks for your help, everyone.
