The Tech Thread

Oh, it’s just a crazy Russian with a WiFi gun antenna, nothing to worry about… :slightly_smiling_face:

…10Mb/s speed from 9 kilometers away…

OK, maybe we should worry a little… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

It looks like the general Idea is to use a 2000w/3000w heating element sandwiched in a barrel between sand/metal and perhaps plaster of paris on the top and bottom, depending on the setup one can achieve temps of over 500f by powering the element for 4/5 hours. the sand will stay very hot for days and it can be used for heating or converted back to electric.

This is so cool, it looks like a QR code at 3:16 thanks for posting.

The data rates for storage and retrieval will increase as time goes on.

I can see film/music distributors storing their master copies on a solution like this. then they will need a high security and temperature controlled storage area.

Looks like linus is a fraud. I’m disappointed I liked the guy, it’s like he’s got no clue of what his position is in the Tech industry. If he’s going to do reviews then his data has to be 100% accurate and he can’t favour certain manufacturers like Noctua because he is doing business with them, all comparisons of product testing results must be accurate because millions of people rely on his opnion before they purchase new equipment.

Why do we support and subscribe to these clowns.
