Let’s say I have not played Eve in years. Let’s assume I am hostile towards Edencom. Let’s say I move through a system under their control in a T1 PVE BattleShip. What is the most likely outcome?
Probably death if you stumble into a group of them.
Depends on how fast your battleship warps.
Only a couple of weeks ago I had a similar situation with a Sin in an Edencom system.
I was a bit inattentive and forgot to align cloaked. I was surprised to see them fire at me, but luckily the Sin is rather agile so I got away with only a few hitpoints less.
With inertisl stabs or MWD cloak trick I bet the T1 battleship can pass through such a system without much issues.
No guarantees, I don’t know how often ships get tackled by NPCs in such systems. I’m glad it didn’t happen to me.
Would you say that travel through hisec requires a constant attention span?
Travel anywhere in EVE requires some kind of attention span.
Within HS you can make it take a lot less attention with the right setup though:
- character not in a corp that can have war decs
- positive or neutral to EDENCOM
- positive or neutral to the Triglavians
- pay attention to the route to see no system is corrupted
My hauling character is pretty safe in HS and only has to watch out for ganks.
If you avoid systems you can’t handle like Edencom or Trig (depending on your standings) and you didn’t hide the “are you sure you want to enter this system” message, you don’t autopilot or afk AND you don’t over bling you’re fine.
No one is going to bother a manual warping basic BS with normal T2 fittings or perhaps some minimal bling, and if you don’t jump into systems with npc that will shoot you then you’re fine.
You can also fix your Edencom standings by going into Pochven space with some ranged destroyer and then kill Rogue Drones in their anomalies. That gets you standing to both Edencom as Trigs.
Thank you for your answers.
