Although EVE seems to be known most for its PvP combat, I don’t think that is what makes the game unique. There are many games with PvP combat, including some with more complex and interesting combat systems than EVE. But there are no games with economic gameplay of the depth and complexity of EVE’s, it is its economy that makes EVE unique.
The problem with this is that, with no other real options at the moment for players who want that rich economic gameplay experience, we end up playing EVE despite having no interest in PvP combat.
There was a lot more than just boosters illegal. A fair amount of trade goods were illegal in certain areas of space, but FC never developed that side of the game at all into anything meaningful; then, when they decided to improve booster usage, instead of it being a niche and rich endeavour, they made them legal as well.
I’m referring to the subset types of ore, such as: Veldspar I, II & III and so on with other ores. This wasn’t a thing when I was doing a majority of my mining a couple years ago and is newer.
I figured there’d be some hate from PvP players but doesn’t bother me much because they probably have never tried the industry side of the game and just hopped right into the first PvP corp that accepted them and coerced to be gank fodder.
I am not knocking PvP, I think its fun and have tried my fair share of it and even was briefly in WH space with my old alliance doing gas huffing and PvP. I just want to see something new and innovative that is introduced to the other side of Eve, not just PvP.
It was a thing, they used to be called massive scordite, fiery kernite etc. The devs just renamed them to grade 123 etc.
I have built my own ships from scratch, mined, done reactions etc. Even the mods I have ran DED sites, missions etc. I am a pvp player. I have built dread fleets to dread bomb people with many times.
I hop on occasionally to hypernet or if I happen to get some omega time from recruits I play, if anything my previous statement further proves there’s been little updates to industry for quite some time, just reworking / renaming types.
