I solo pvp…
And now you’ve witnessed what’s it like being turned into group PvP content. ![]()

You are there.
That’s all the reason anyone needs in this game.
Do you look for reasons to shoot people in any shooter game?
Just because you don’t know of a reason doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Some players want as many kills as they can, maybe to impress a corporation or look good on Zkill - who knows. But unless someone is completely out of his mind, there’s always a reason.
This is not the most dystopian and brutal. That would be Evony - The King’s Return. That game is absolutely pay to win. It has 60 to 100 million players and brings in over 300m dollars a year. A loss in that game can cost hundreds of dollars. I’ve had to pay it twice. I definitely made sure I didn’t lose often. I came here to relax after leaving that game. PvP there was very intense and I grew tired of it.
Well I hate those overly micro-transaction games. There’s a difference between a game where you ‘can’ pay to win…and a game where you ‘have’ to pay to win.
In EVE I consider things like skill injectors a complete and utter waste of money. No…I’m not gonna pay almost 1bn ISK just to knock 9 days off some skill queue. Thus is took me 2.5 years just to get all four T3s to level 5. ( well…that includes other training too ).
I’m onto ships like the Vargur…where the cost is not trivial, its probably comparable to £15 worth of PLEX. Heck, that was the cost of an entire game not that long ago !
I googled it. You play a nobleman running down a bridge firing machine guns at people?
I, uh… okay. You have fun with that.
No. It’s a castle game. I don’t know why they decided to advertise as a puzzle game, but it’s a castle game. The first ten minutes of it is puzzle and then you’re thrust into the real game.
It’s the most complex castle game ever made. There are many ways to build your power. It’s addictive. The story is that the true king left the land and that means that the throne is open to anyone strong enough to take it. The PvP in the game is ruthless! Troops cost a lot of resources and they die permanently unless it’s one of the PvP events. If someone destroys your troops outside of an event, you’re done unless you can afford to rebuild. I played it for about 7 years.
Eve USED to be dystopian and brutal.
CCP’s long catering to carebears has destroyed that, however.
Are you still spouting that nonsense? You know it isn’t true. CCP has nerfed everything in this game. PvE as well. And bumping still exists. A neutral ship committing a hostile act in High Sec without getting a suspect or criminal flag whatsoever. It’s completely legal to keep a ship from warping off that has no counter in High Sec unless you have a very fast alt that can bump the trapped ship clear. A logistics ship can’t remote repair without inheriting the combat flags, yet somehow bumping remains legal.
CCP has issued many nerfs across the board, but they’ve kept the PvP aspect of it.
As for Null Sec, Goon just erased Horde from the map. Massive losses. Tens of trillions of ISK destroyed. Were you living under a rock?
I wish CCP would nerf people’s ability to whine about the consequences of not paying attention to the game. Highsec bumping has very simple counters.
Firstly, use your overview. If it’s not a mining ship or booster, you need to be watching it. If they’re moving and their transversal is zero, they’re coming straight at you and you need to start moving. Approaching them works best to counter bumping, they have to negate your forward momentum and the resulting bump is much slower. Turning on a prop mod will increase your mass as much as their prop mod does, which counters a good chunk of their mass and adds more forward momentum, so they don’t bump you as fast. In any event, approaching the bumper means the resulting bump will be back towards where you started from.
If you’ve got a good tank, orbiting your rock is a good counter to bumping. It takes skill to bump an already moving target, and even then your ship is going to active try to go back to orbiting.
Keeping a hauler from getting bumped is as easy as having a friend/alt with a stasis web, and dueling them so they don’t get Concorded. Hyena is perfect for this, though skill intensive, because at EAS 5, its webs will reach anywhere you could possibly land on a gate from anywhere you could possibly land on a gate. Any ship with some faction webs will work, however, if you make full use of the gate cloak the freighter has to get the webber positioned on the gate. Don’t have to be worried about being bumped when the freighter is in warp 3s after dropping gate cloak. If you ever watched a freighter land on grid and it looked like it came in sideways, this is how they did that.
PvP has been nerfed, and the Ganking side of it has gotten more nerfs than any other part of this game. I could fill a post with nothing but the nerfs to ganking over the years, but others have already gone over them for me.
As for the nullsec drama, CCP has nothing to do with that beyond setting up the framework they use to survive out there. The politics are all player driven. Any changes to nullsec are merely shifts in the meta of nullsec, and whether they are nerfs or buffs is entirely subjective. What is a nerf to one group is a buff to a different group, irrespective of how anyone feels about those groups.
I love how you just completely ignore the fact that it’s a poor man’s warp scrambler.
People bump because they know that it’s a neutral target. There’s no risk involved when bumping. You’ll never have to buy your own warp scrambler or lose your ship to Concord. Bring that up though and you get worthless walls of text like the one above this post ![]()
And yes, I can stasis web with an alt or bump with an alt… funny that someone gas to skill up a second character to deal with a neutral bumper because gankers can’t bother to buy a warp scrambler and lose a ship ![]()
Bumping is the carebear way of ganking ![]()
And I know CCP didnt decide that goon had to destroy PH. Why the hell would you think that needed to be said? But it proves that this game is still ruthless.
Sure it is. Much like a lot of this game, if you’re dumb enough to let it happen to you then you deserve it. Seriously, the main counter to being bumped as a miner is simply paying attention to the f*cking game, so that’s entirely on you if you get bumped.
Get a friend.
The web alt is only needed for freighters, and is what you use if you can’t otherwise make the other guy a bigger gank target.
Because you brought it up in a reply about PvP nerfs. ![]()
Nullsec doing what nullsec always does, pouncing on any weakness, is irrelevant to this discussion. You didn’t need to bring it into this in the first place.
I didn’t say I was dumb enough to let it happen to me. Check my kill board. I just said it was a carebear way to pvp.
That’s because most miner bumping is done by carebears.
If the bump isn’t quickly followed by a gank fleet, that means the people bumping you are the alts of the people mining in the belt you’re in.
Freighter bumping is done as a delaying tactic to gather the gank fleet, miner bumping is done to keep the miner from mining.
Even when it’s followed by a gank fleet, you do know what a warp scrambler mod is right?
And just a lone bumper doesn’t bother me. I think it’s hilarious.
What you did there is called whoring. And players who do that are called whores.
You did not save the freighter. You did not steal the loot. And you didn’t cause any damage or disturbance. The gank happened exactly as planned, the ships were lost regardless your intervention and the pods were empty so you just save them trip to home station.
You achieved nothing other than pad your killboard with cheap kills that only tells others that you are lowly whore who can’t get kills in any other way.
So I fail to see how you “took it back to them” …
Wow youre seriously butt hurt over this..
Killing miners and haulers is no different. With the exception that they are hiding losses to npc kills against the pilots.
I just say a failed gank where about 20 logi warped in.
End of the day I pay to play how I want. You play the way you want.
most if not all are alts from NS.
