Today I decided not to play

Hey the title says “Today”, does this mean you might play tomorrow? I won’t be here tomorrow, got invited to a Halloween party. I am going as a pirate, since I lost my left leg below the knee last year. That solves “faking it” right?

Yes, that happens. However from what I am seeing, you are price quoting some very inexpensive ships ( even from an alpha player point of view) I think you just need to review what you are trying to accomplish with the game.

This is pretty low budget, first I’d take the time to get skilled for combat. While I would rather get omega for PVP combat, it isn’t implausible to PVP alpha as long as you are willing to risk loss. If your ganker is flying something worth 4 million or less – I have flown ventures worth 12 million – then you need to look at going cruiser or battle cruiser to take him out. Those run 30 to 45 million + parts.

I know you will say, I can’t afford 50 million ISK. Then you are not playing the game correctly. Here is a list of stuff to do to make 50 million ISK and the time to make it;

  • mining kernite - lots of places buy this at 850 per unit, 1 load 20 minutes is 3 to 4 million.
  • mining gas - if you can find Lime gas it sells for more than 100,000 ISK per unit, if memory serves the alpha mining scoops gather it at 2 units per minute. That’s 1 million per 5 mins.
  • short haul contracts - take a contract to haul something a short distance ( 20 jumps or less ) you will need to put up collateral.
  • career agents - one school has 45 missions and there are a total of 12 across the entire game. Each one gives out 10 million ISK in reward + free ships + parts. Do all 12 and you have 120 million ISK.
  • Play the market - I do this, it is the slowest, but I never have to leave the station.

Auto pilot is auto suicide. I never do it. Learn where the gankers are and just avoid them by using a custom route. If you allow robbie the robot to fly your ship, chances are you won’t make it to market. For example; I am Amarrian and there is a choke point at Ahbazon. I avoid this and use either Olettiers or Vecamia systems as a bypass. Also as I said, 20 jumps is short. Use the map tools, at the bottom stats show how many ships are getting whacked in any system.

I never did much “exploring” but you do as you see fit. I wasn’t here 10 years ago, but it is a game you still can cause havoc in for free. Incase no one told you, omega can be obtained for 500 plex and plex is sold in the market for ISK 5 to 6 million each, you need to make between 2.5 to 3 billion per month.

Good luck!

You don’t need a ship that can fly 2200 times the speed of light, you just need to fly at your own speed in a safe manner.

You know what AFK stands for in AFK Flying? “Ah F, Killed!”

Your tendency to come to any form of discourse with your dissenting opinion within the first or second reply is beyond pattern.

Stop calling it high sec—it’s not. 99% of ganking complaints would end if the game showed true risk there, e.g., rename it and change it from green/blue.

Yes this game is point and click style game and yes you must clicking for surviving, CCP how dare you.

If you autopilot a ship, you deserve your fate. You wanted PvP and you got exactly what you asked for.

You can’t take revenge. You’re an Alpha clone. You have to upgrade to Omega to set your safety to Red in order to attack someone.

This is the most beautiful Gallente exploration ship, showing a classic asymmetric Gallente design of pure utility.

The Helios and Imicus are two of my favourite ships, not only for their attributes but for their unique design as well.

While it would be nice if CCP brought their textures up todate, I really wish they keep the distinct Lambda shape intact if they do.

But I fear the shape which sets this ship apart from bland boring symmetric spaceships may be the part you are complaining about.

Yes, you autopiloted an easily destroyed ship carrying millions in one of the busiest and most dangerous places of the glaxy.

You did get what you were asking for.

Now if you don’t want the shuttle to die I suggest you warp straight to gates and stations. Without autopilot.

Autopilot is for when you don’t care if the ship lives or dies.

You clearly cared.

Congratz, eve has become a game of farmers so i don’t blame you.

Not true! I use autopilot to plot my course but fly it manually. Warp to bookmarks that allow me to come in from an odd direction, etc. Works for me anyway.

The Gallente were never the best at ship aesthetics. All their designs look like something you’d find in someone’s vomit if you went poking around in there, for whatever reason. That said, most of us don’t fly the ships for how they look. And you have at least 4 alternatives to choose from. Usually more than that. Astero is a good-looking alternative.

So, it is cheaper to just move on and do better next time.

too long, can you short it a bit

Art didn’t exist when EVE was created. It is a new concept that was discovered while managers were searching for ways to maximize profits. A shocking research study proved that people like things that look nice, and spend more money on it. Now all the studios are playing catchup with this trend, including CCP. You can see that on all the newer ship models, compared to the old ones. Quite fascinating!

Oh, I don’t know about that. Both the new mining destroyer and SoE battlecruiser are pretty damn ugly.

You aswell.
