I have tried numerous routes through other countries and the thing just died. Unable to log anywhere. Just blink and someone shut off the lights. I cannot believe that its the big bad DDOS boogeyman anymore.
DDOS and other attacks are an everyday thing now days and the better targets can handle them.
So, I honestly donât know much of anything about networks and stuff⌠having said that: canât they investigate where the â â â â these attacks are coming from?
It is 2020. We should have a way to find out the source, no? Even if theyâre routing from some other country (or several) like in the movies?
Nah, they already said that they are âMonitoring the situationâ. No one needs to be there this weekend. Its kind of like a California rolling stop for a stop sign. They got it covered.
Nope. A DDoS is a distributed denial of service. It involves a huge number of infected machines, controlled by some central signal or server. To discover the attacker, a victim would need to find and dissect one of the infected devices, then follow the commands back to their source, which could easily be comments posted on random-seeming instagram posts or whatever, made by throwaways.
