TurAmarth ElRandir: PS I setup a Private VPN (though ProtonVPN) last Friday and have been playing ā€œalmostā€ without a hitch since. I did see a very few random instances of lag and logon issues, so I changed servers and that fixed it each time. Iā€™m not gonna tell you which servers have been the most stable for me, do the work, find your own. I will say they were all in Europe not in N. Americiaā€¦

If your connection works over VPN then that means there is no DDOS happening. DDOS doesnā€™t choose which connections it lets through, it floods the target so no one can connect. Looks like CCP is trying to save face with misleading info.

What made you suggest four hours as a sensible update interval?

Iā€™d suggest the updates come as and when something materially changes, otherwise itā€™s just updating for updatingā€™s sake.

For what itā€™s worth, the biggest frustration I have is having to sit in station clicking ā€˜retryā€™ until chat connects - Iā€™d prefer a ā€˜do not ask me againā€™ tickbox so I can just tell it to retry once.
Only reason is that warning over-rides everything else, so I canā€™t safely undock until itā€™s stopped appearing.

Unless of course they are blocking higher risk IPsā€¦

NETWORK EXPERIMENTATION TEST TO CONNECT TO EVE ONLINE:
1.] SETUP MY OWN PROXY SERVER WITH A ROUTE TO A AWS CLOUD DNS AS THE VPN
2.] LOADED EVE ONLINE LAUNCHER
3.] CLICKED ON PLAY BUTTON FOR DESIRED ACCOUNT
RESULTS ARE
INSTANT LOGIN STARTUP => AUTHENTICATED => IN GAME SITTING IN MY HOME STATION

TESTING PART 2:
1.] UNDOCK WARP AROUND KILL A FEW RATS
2.] WARP TO RANDOM LOCATIONS JUMP A STARGATE THEN RETURNED BACK TO SYSTEM OF ORIGIN WARPED TO HOME STATION DOCKED UP
3.] VIEW INVENTORY RESHIP 20+ TIMES
4.] CHANGED CLONES FROM EMPTY TO LOADED AN BACK MANY TIMES
5.] ALT TAB DISABLE THE PROXY/VPN
6.] CHECK GAME STILL CONNECTED ZERO LAGG

SEEMS LIKE THERE IS A HANDSHAKE PROBLEM WITH THE SSL REDIRECT FROM THE 443 TO 26000 PORT
BECAUSE OF WHERE CCP HOST FROM THE SERVER HEARTBEAT GENERATES AN UPTIME GRAPH
srv200-c.ccp.cc (87.237.34.200) [29801 ports] << NOTE THAT IS A LOT OF PORT NUMBERS.

ccp is using AWS + CLOUDFLARE

Your statement seems to be correct from the technicial point of view.

I made my own PROXY/VPN using my development sandbox AWS Compute server which I also setup a working DNS from for my Render Cluster

I just see more than 25,000 logged in including myself. I always have a problem that at start I have to re-log once, but thatā€™s all.

CCP should give all affected players free titans :ok_hand:

it just flat amazes me that CCP just does not care to take preventitve action to keep players ongoing infrastructure ingame, which requires! the ability to be able to log in to play and maintain!
hundreds of billons in minerals lost from moon drills auto fracking. stations and services offlined for fuel reasons ,alliance and corp billsā€¦going .
Why CCP? why would you Not protect your playerbase from the effects of this problem ā€¦it litterally does not cost you anything in the scheme of things to do so and! you are visably supporting your playerbaseā€™s faith in you, which is dam important or should have been days ago.

Still Connectivity issues, spent 10 mins jumping through Warp Gate, had to kill Client to get out of Game, Managed to get back in 20 minutes later in a whole nother System, half a dozen jumps from where I wanted to be. AND No Chat or Local, AGAIN!!!

Being from the UK, I havenā€™t had an issue with being able to connect for days now. The lag issue hasnā€™t been there for days too. Iā€™ve just logged on and the game definitely feels less responsive today. Other than that, I can log on OK. Thatā€™s just my two pence worth.
