I’m sure they’re working on this as hard as they can, but Tranquility is dying more often than @CCP_Convict in an EVE Pulse video! I’m running high sec sites in a confessor on a toon I forgot about because I’m unwilling to risk anything of value at this point. I sure hope CCP isn’t paying someone else for DDoS protection.
Could you take a looks at my petition?? Going on 6 days now. SUPPORT REQUEST #1205853
SUPPORT REQUEST #1205853
I’m with you. This seems to be a uniquely EVE problem. I assume that other online games have DDOS attacks against them, but possibly the single shared environment of EVE amplifies the effect. I’m not sure why someone would do this. Perhaps a bunch of angry parents/spouses learned to code so that they could stop our fun!
One thing’s for sure, it’s super annoying, but I also don’t blame CCP per se. It’s sort of like blaming a bank for being robbed when it has the protection of any other bank. Governments should probably be more aggressively locating people who perpetrate these crimes and bring them to justice. DDOS, make no mistake, is a crime and it has consequences. I bet CCP employees are going bonkers trying to fix this, but in some ways they are as helpless as the rest of us.
Your server is borked……again. Massive lag or DDOS a minute ago…
If we lose multiple ships during this period of time (due to server/lag/dc) do we file multiple petitions or will one suffice?
multiple ofc
CCP has posted a warning about server stability issues on the launcher. If you take a 2 billion ISK ship into the Abyss and lose it due to DDOS, I’d say that’s on you…
Is that per character or per account, just so i get my invoice correct.
I trust you, as long as there are no probes on D-scan
Per character, as always.
I wasn’t in the abyss. Are just supposed to not do anything until these issues completely resolve? Not even undock?
Mine
You can do anything you want. Just know that you choose to do those activities knowing full well that the server is having stability issues. That’s like going on a cruise after the cruise company warns you that they might encounter Somalian pirates. You choose to go on the cruise anyway and end up getting robbed by Somalian pirate, just like they said. So, who is to blame in that situation? You…
Nice false equivalency there.
No, it’s exactly the same thing. CCP warned you on the launcher that the server is currently experiencing stability issues. Now, if you choose to go about your normal routine and undock fully knowing that in advance, whatever happens after that is on you…
While CCP may reimburse most or all support ticket requests due to the DDOS, the ticket backlog is going to be high. It could take some unknown number of days for all requests to be answered in the order they were received. That unknown number of days without a ship, while a ticket is in the queue, is the risk factor of diving into abyssal deadspace, atm.
Great, now I need to think of a good Somalian pirate name!
Will this also take 2-3 weeks to fix like the last time you claimed there was a DDoS attack?
More lag and disconnects. Last time? How often are players dealing with DDOS attacks now?
