and when incursion update goes live didn’t people said the same thing ?
Incursions have never been of the same amplitude. Blocking entirely systems by lowering them to low or null sec status, with NPCs podding players, to me that’s a first. And Incursions move. This invasion stays in place and doesn’t want to go anywhere unfortunately.
This thing will hopefully go away one day, but thanks to the total lack of communication on the aftermath no body knows how this clusterf*** is going to end. I’m not paying a monthly subscription to be held hostage by a bunch of devs and product dev managers who don’t give a s*** about players experience.
We’ve had that time and time again: the blackout, the captain’s quarters and so on. So I’m joining whoever decided to put their subs on hold until they sort their s*** out. Past experiences have proved that it’s the only way to get heard in this game.
I think that you haven’t read what’s been discussed really. I for one love change in the game, and I’m all for a new faction (I’ve said it twice now…). The only annoying thing is how it is affecting players in a negative way, and apparently in all sectors, without even leaving a trace of a clue of what’s going to happen next. We’re talking about entire systems where players have to pack up and leave. What if one of them is on leave from EvE, as it happens to a lot of us? Comes back to find out that all his assets are gone. Thanks for coming.
And I’m also gutted that NPCs can pod players. I’ve never seen that before. And they’re doing it in Triglav invaded systems branded with a 0.5 security status, and a yellow arrow. Again you could easily be tricked into thinking that it’s relatively safe to cross gates there, only to find a horde of NPC Triglavs nuking you out of the system in seconds. Don’t even thing about warp-cloaking or anything. Since when is anyone paying a sub to a game only to be ridiculed and humiliated that way by a sloppy “new feature” designed, obvioulsy, to piss people off? And this is not a rant from another random carebear from HS. I’d be discouraged the same to try and keep playing if it happened to me in low or nullsec. And this only comes after a long trail of totally screwed up attempts by CCP to “improve” the game and bring new experience to players. Thanks for the attempt, but ideally try not to make it pass through the wrong hole, even with extravagant amounts of lube.
The idea of making HiSec (temporarily ?) more dangerous and chaotic has its merits. I absolutely enjoyed all the triglavian content.
What I would advise the devs though is, for lengthy events of this nature in hisec, to make the relevant data available in a consolidated format e.g., a separate website or in-client window with up-to-date status of systems, the basic aspects of changes, effects of standings etc. Even for more seasoned pilots it is a hassle to figure out what is going on where, which systems are safe to travel with given standings. That problem is only larger for new players who often aren’t even aware of the availability of player made websites with the data and do not have the reflex to google for all this info. I’ve seen more than a few rookie meatsicles floating near gates in hisec trig invasion systems.
If it weren’t for a few good websites for the occasion (edencom.space and kybernaut.space are the ones I use) it certainly would be slightly annoying.
For the rest, since the main story is now going towards culmination, we will soon see what changes will be definitive and can start reorganizing from there onwards. Patience, or better still, enjoy the ride
Maybe the invasion could be explain better, like edencom explain the benefit to fight for it aside from “keep the status quo”, and show a list of minor victory system of both side.
But that’s the only two thing that i can come up with.
I guess it is a sandbox… so as in the real world, if you allow it, you can and will be driven like sheep. “Resource distribution update”. “Trigalavian Invasion”. Becoming more and more difficult to fly alone. Pearl Abyss really do need their “pound of flesh”. Good luck big brother. o7
CCP are doing what they are told by the “masters”. In a world of upheaval and loss… They make New Eden the same. Screw every last dime out of us. Can’t beat kicking a guy when he’s down.
Does an invasion need a reason? Other then the obvious.
If an invasion happened in the real world roads would be cut off, production would drop. All the stuff that Eve players are experiencing, but a real invasion would be far worse on your precious system.
