Uedama anti-gank

It is not a fringe belief, it is indisputable fact. Suicide ganking is a legal act within the rules of EVE, period. I’m sorry that you do not like those rules but that is a you problem, not an EVE problem.

Whether or not it is a legal act within the background fiction (or some third party site’s interpretation of the background fiction) is irrelevant. The actual gameplay of EVE diverges from the background fiction in many significant ways, and CONCORD itself makes no sense from a background fiction point of view.

Then shut up about it and stop asking for evidence of it.

You made the claim that suicide ganking is against the rules. I’m not going to stop asking you to produce evidence for your claims just because I expect you to fail to do so.

I understand that you live in a fantasy world where ganking is some kind of horrible crime against humanity and only sociopaths would do it, but in the real world it’s an entirely legal act within the rules of EVE and a popular gameplay feature in a PvP game. The only question here is why you insist on continuing to play a game that is so poorly suited to your needs.

IN GAME NEW EDEN rules.

I think you need to replace your RAM. It keeps losing data before shipping it to the CPU.

If you want to discuss the fiction go here: Fiction Portal - EVE Online Forums

This forum is for discussion of the actual game, not your opinions about background fiction. And so if you say “ganking is against the rules” then it will be interpreted as a reference to the rules of the game, not your opinions about what some NPC thinks about ganking.

But we all know you don’t care about what NPCs think. You’re only falling back on NPC opinions because you can’t defend your fantasy world where ganking is against the rules and gankers are all sociopaths for breaking the rules.

Again you have dropped caveats. Please upgrade your RAM. I have been very clear about the distinction between in game and RL rules.

And the forum rules are very clear: discussion of what NPCs think about events in the fictional story of EVE belong in the fiction section, not here. If you genuinely want to talk about what you think NPCs believe and aren’t just hiding behind that excuse after losing yet another argument then you need to be posting in the appropriate place.

Here, I’ll even link it again for you so you can go there and never come back to bother the rest of us in the more important sections: Fiction Portal - EVE Online Forums

It’s like you’re on the cusp of self awareness but you don’t quite grasp it. HS ganking carries with it penalties, however not an exploit otherwise it would be a bannable offence (which it isn’t). IMO receiving a suspect timer (where everyone can shoot you), concord spawn and security status loss is a harsh enough penalty.

In the sense of in game mechanics, yes ganking is ‘illegal’ and carries with it severe penalties. In the spirit of CCP RL rules however, ganking is not an ‘illegal’ act and carries no punishment. I think it’s important to make this distinction otherwise you’re being dishonest.

You started that discussion, demanded evidence, then declared it irrelevant, still won’t drop it and seek to blame me. You are a liar, griefer and troll and you only represent yourself whatever you try to do to make it seem like you speak for others.

That’s exactly what I have been saying. Read the thread. Its Merin that disputes it.

I fail to see how anyone remotely rational could interpret “rules” as anything but this.

That’s the thing, you never are clear about any distinctions. You leave everything open to interpretation with a high degree of ambiguity, so that depending on the direction in which the debate goes, you can fork your argument in the most convenient manner possible to be “never wrong.” It’s actually infuriating, quite honestly.

Actually I represent you. I’ve filed appropriate paperwork to remove your ability to act as a legal adult and take custody of you and your forum posting. It’s the only civilized option when dealing with someone as tragically lacking in mental capacity as you are.

You started that discussion

You started the discussion about ganking being against the rules. And then, when you ran into the brick wall of indisputable facts that ganking is not against the rules of EVE you tried to drag things off into some irrelevant tangent about what you think NPCs believe about ganking.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: if you genuinely were referring to NPC feelings the whole time then you were off topic for this section of the forum and need to stop posting here. Take your anti-ganking whines to the background fiction section where you can talk all you like about how your favorite CONCORD NPC really hates ganking.

Also, you’re a shameless liar. The posts where this argument started make it very clear that Aiko and I are both talking about the rules of EVE as a game, not the background fiction about the opinions of CONCORD NPCs. I even explicitly used the term “in-game rules” to describe the rules of playing EVE, not some fictional law which exists in the background story of EVE.

Nice catch. I know that he does this, but at this point it’s getting difficult to keep up with each individual transgression.

Do you guys ever get tired of trying to grief people?

Do you ever get tired of being a miserable pedantic grump?

I will take that as “no”.

I am enjoying being the sole proprietary owner of the galaxy, if that’s what you mean.

I think it’s well established that I’m not a griefer.

I would ask you the same, since you’re one of EVE’s most notorious griefers who has been warned multiple times about griefing newbies in the tutorial systems.

Wow, that’s low, I’ve never done that. Come on Renly…
