As the others had suggested, carrying a Mobile Depot lets you customize your fit while you’re out. You can deploy it, refit, and pick it back up. Among other uses, that means you could gear yourself for a heavy Buffer fit, and then swap out for a Repper after fighting and patch up the damage. Then swap back to Buffer and go run some more sites.

But I still think you might do better with the active dual repper fit, maybe with a bit of extra buffer in case they happen to beat your reps until you kill them down…

Don’t start out leaning pvp in a 500-1b ship. This loss is going to hurt. I would recommend starting out with an Astero or something even cheaper.

Starting out you may want to split up your activities. Explore then use a different ship for pvp. Just my 2c.

The fit I suggested wasn’t meant for PvP, it was meant for surviving any Rats you find while you’re out exploring. Whether you’re running Data, Relic, or Combat sites, that thing should be able to handle them.

If you want a Buffer fit, with a ton of HP and no way to repair… Then you’re hoping to stay alive long enough to kill everything first. If they happen to deal a ton of damage to you, you’re going to die.

If you use the dual reppers as you originally suggested, you’re hoping to repair damage before it kills you. If you run out of Cap, or they still manage to deal a ton of damage, you’re going to die. That’s why I suggested more Cap mods to make your fit Cap stable. That way you can leave your Reppers going and hopefully stay alive.

That’s easy. More hp means a potential opponent would have to go through all of that armor to kill your ship BUT an armor rep regenerates your armor at the cost of capacitor.
With armor ships you can mix plates and armor reps but if you only do armor reps, you have to carefully manage your capacitor.
Armor doesn’t regenerate over time like shields do, so when your armor is gone, so are you.
An armor rep let’s you stay in space for longer, since you can repair yourself and continue on your journeys.
