Undocking mechanics - remind me where I'm wrong

Returning to the game after a few years’ break, and I always seem, to forget the details. Please let me know where I have this correct and incorrect:

When being ejected / undocking from a station, your ship will be at full speed (presuming no bumps) and assigned a random horizontal angle of +/- ___ degrees off-center. (Five?). The goal for having a proper insta-undock bookmark is to position it such that, no matter what angle you are ejected at, you will instantly enter into warp. For a reliable BM, it should be no more than +/- ___ degrees off-center?

Is there a vertical component to worry about as well? Thanks!

Seems correct.

There also is a randomness in the vertical axis, your exit vector will be within a cone. In fact, some stations eject you diagonally or even vertically up or down.

If you want to get a good feeling for the randomness you could undock a few times and drop a bookmark after 20 or 50km. Do this a bunch of times and you’ll notice a spread. Next time you undock aim for the middle bookmark and continue that line for your insta-undock bookmarks.
