Can…can you guys please try to make the actual PvE content more engaging and rewarding instead of removing mechanics that are, honestly, the only things that make the sites less tedious to do? I get it. Y’all don’t want folks going AFK while “playing” your game, and you want to continue making life hell for Botters. Fair enough.
But make the content more engaging. Tedious does not equal engaging. Make it more intricate and immersive with actual objectives beyond simply “Shoot the Ships.” Add in Mini Games, or “Passcode” entries in that are essentially “I am not a Robot” checks. Add in Accel Gates that have to be Hacked in order to activate. Something. Anything.
It’s no secret that the PvE in Eve needs more depth. It’s also no secret that AFK ratting, but more so botters, aren’t what we want in the game. Find solutions that are actually solutions to the problem, without negatively affecting folks who aren’t doing anything wrong.
CCP literally does not know how to, and at this point, they’re not willing to take the risk of fundamentally changing how PvE works for the overwhelming majority of the game. It’s why they’ve been trying gated/instanced PvE to try and experiment.
This has nothing to do with laziness. If there are four targets which neut you dry in close range and approaching you, and four targets which forbid you to lock anything past 30km and running away from you, what are you supposed to do?
You can kill two of the dampeners before they lock you. This does not always work for various reasons, especially in Exotic. Fine, you are still damped to 39.
Also, there are sansha spawns, which usually come with the same damp strength. And which definately do lock you faster than you lock them.
I love CCP’s encouragement of the fun engaging content of “Press F for a couple hours each day” that I can tell my friends about! They’ll love to come to this game for that! Good call!
I rat with a machariel. It is an inconvenience, I like to let the drop es kill the small stuff while I wear down the battleships. With guns.
Its like the less and dynamic bounties, not the end of the world ans by itself no big deal, its just , well, dumb as hell when ccp could be attacking the problems in ways that are actually fun and interesting.
They could have added abyss like anti drone towers that randomly spawn that you have to kill but that offer no bounties. Or added npcs that use special ewar that jam your ability to communicate with drones so you have to scoop the ‘infected’ drones and repair them some kind of way before you could launch more drones.
I do t know if those are good ideas or not, but I do know that this blanket Nerf every drone in eve against npcs BS is awful.
so now we need to lock up every single drone in missions to kill them, you understand how long it takes to lock up small drones in a BS? The strangle hold you are trying to put on ISK making is killing every other part of the game.
If an alliance has 100 members trying to hold 10 systems, they should be putting a lot of effort than when trying to hold a single system.
If the issue here is that these “small” alliances can’t compete against the “big” alliances, why are they competing in the first place?
Isn’t it better to establish and grow a force elsewhere, rather than trying to start straight from null sec and get pummeled into the ground every time?
So maybe you should fly a smaller ship with a faster lock time. Ever think about that?
The strangle hold you are trying to put on ISK making is killing every other part of the game.
Sorry, perhaps you should improve your skills and learn things like how to make a proper queue of locked targets? The only people being strangled are the low-skill players who can’t succeed unless the content is literally so easy they can farm it while AFK. If you are a competent player and actively playing the game this has zero impact on your ISK generation.
