US real ID mandate

If you go to the VA you need it after may 7

As a European it was always unusual to me that having a government issued ID is not a natural thing in the USA. Not judging or anything and completely understandable, just genuinely unusual for someone like me who always had one since childhood, just as everyone else in my country and as far as I know most if not all countries in Europe.

Well we have state issued IDs but since 9/11 they been pushing this Real ID where we have a star on our licenses. After May 7 it will be required to get into federal buildings or fly. And the VA hospitals are Federal buildings

US: the State can’t DEMAND you to prove that you are you! You need no paper!
Rest of the world: the State can’t DENY you that you are you! You have a paper!

And this is as much Real Politics as I’m going to be here.

Just got home so searched it up.. looks like as long as you have a passport, or military ID, not the VA ID, you can still get into the VA or military bases if you don’t have a Real ID.
