Skills is one thing. Passively letting standings go up without bribery or doing something good? No.
You blew up some of amarrs false prophets and now you have bad standings and they hate you. They arent just gonna over time forgive you without you doing something for them.
Having a choice between training the skill points passively or raising standings passively is not a bad idea. If it was you would just ignore me and not quote me out of context and so on

It takes away some of the frustration of raising standings by giving people a choice of training a skill passively or raising a standing passively

The standing system will still be there even if you can switch from training skills to raising standings. In fact the system will be better then

If you choose to raise a standing instead of training a skill that is not lazy its a compromise.
Some will prefer to keep training skills while they raise standings the old way. Some will prefer pausing their skill training and raise the standings faster instead. And some will think its a stupid idea without giving a good reason why.
