Value Packs Feedback Thread

I personally have never used “packs”, i’m a long time subscriber but i wanted to provide a suggestion, given how these packs are being redesigned and the content of them is on the utility they bring to the customer/account who purchased, i think it’s fair to say they should not be limited to the 1-time only option. Please reconsider this limitation, or re-balance the packs to consider it something that can be purchased limitless times.

Even more so for the identity packs, if you release one that i like, and for skins i would like to give away as prizes for corp mates, restricting it to 1-time only puts an unnecesary barrier on a product you might sell several times.

Just consider there are SKINS that exist in game, old ones, that can never be bought from the NES, you have not released them again in the last 10 years but are still popular among the player base, those are perfect for identity packs, and could be sales that happen over and over for the next years without additional work from CCPs side.

The answer to this is simply increasing AHEAD of time the EverMarks reward for the scarce ship type or ammo (Paragon accepts also empire faction S ammo). Giving players incentive to hand in more.

i dont trust ccp

This is actually a nice refocus of marketing. The value of the proposed packs is immediately apparent. There are obviously two red lines to not cross: gold ammo (or damage boosters) and ships for cash. Outside of that I might consider purchasing some of these.

So… when will we be able to buy Jove or Drifter ships? (or blueprints) Unless they offer something unique (that can’t be player-produced) - what’s the point of buying packs containing ships? Wouldn’t it just make more sense to buy PLEX instead?

And before everyone peaks and freaks, SoCT and Concord are already two examples of ship lines that can’t be acquired through the typical process for ships.

About the Career Packs, your website doesn’t list the contents of the Career Crates… I guess those are basically just Mystery Boxes now…

Also why are the Career Packs all priced differently when they pretty much contain the same basic items?

The Explorer Career Pack has the info listed for the Advanced ‘Boost’ Cerebral Accelerator, however the other Career Packs don’t list the attributes…

No info listed for the Agency Support Drops either, guess that’s another Mystery Box… Also why are those only available in the Enforcer and Soldier of Fortune Career Packs? Those regular Boosters provide benefits to all Career paths…

Speaking of Enforcer Pack, why does that Pack contain 2 x Basic Glamourex Boosters and the other Packs don’t? Some players like to run Distribution and Mining missions so when they buy the Industrialist Career Pack for the Operation Expert System, they won’t get any boost to standings like the Enforcer Pack…

Lastly why does the Industrialist Career Pack contain a ship skin and the other Career Packs don’t? All Career Packs should feature a ship skin specifically for that path…

In my opinion all of the Career Packs should be the same price with the same amount of items, the only difference should be the Operation Expert Systems contained in the Packs…

My own personal beef with this whole system is you guys constantly making everything account bound, basically cutting out Player Market and Character Trade options…

Now about the Mastery Packs… Level 1 has the best Cerebral Accelerator whereas Level 5 has the worst… You guys have that backwards, the best Cerebral Accelerator should be in the Level 5 Mastery Pack, especially since it’s the most expensive… The worst Cerebral Accelerator should be in the Level 1 Mastery Pack…

For the past few years I’ve been steadily losing interest in this game, too many various game changes implemented because of your monetization milk cow mentality… Talk about squeezing blood from a stone…

Mastering New Value packs

Additionally, price points have been adjusted and rounded up (e.g. $9.99 → $10).

Just move to EVE Frontier so you can sell your own Starter packs to new players and cut out the middleman.

I actually like the rounding up; the prices feel more genuine.

I honestly don’t understand these new packs, either (for pretty much the same reasons you outlined).

The career packs are outdated, and admittedly confusing. But what is not to understand about the new packs? The pricing tiers seem extremely clear to me:

Have you done a cost analysis to figure out what the savings are with each pack? (minus the accelerators)

At first glance it would make more sense to offer 3x MCTs and 3x accelerators in the Level 5 package, and 1x extractor in the Level 3 package.

The other thing is that this forces the player into MCTs with the Level 4/5 packages (even if they don’t plan to run multiple characters).

I have the distinct impression that marketing has already signed off on these package changes (for the most part), and they’re just looking for a few ideas with respect to which SKINs to include.

MCT are a joke now. Bound to account and often sold “3 Months Omega, 6 Months MCT” is borderline deceptive when you consider an account that looses its Omega status also looses its MCT.

The graph you posted is the 5 levels of Mastery Packs, not the Career Packs…

There are only 4 Career Packs…

Explorer Career Pack
$10.99
Industrialist Career Pack
$13.99
Enforcer Career Pack
$16.99
Soldier of Fortune Career Pack
$18.99

Yes, I understand that. I was replying to @Arthur_Aihaken saying this:

I honestly don’t understand these new packs

Emphasis mine.

Ahh, thought you were talking about my post since you said the Career Packs were outdated and confusing…

The main thing I don’t like about the Mastery Packs is the type of Cerebral Accelerators that are assigned to each pack, specifically talking about how the cheapest Mastery Pack has the best Cerebral Accelerator and the most expensive pack has the worst Accelerator…

I especially don’t like how CCP constantly lies with fancy word salad advertising, always trying to scam every last penny from it’s player base by turning everything into account bound items, basically making the player market obsolete…

Yes. MCTs shouldn’t be locked to an account. You should be able to freely sell these on the open market.

Careful you’re going to get blocked by Team Security from running from CSM with that language. If you toe the party line like @Ariel_Rin you could fly to Iceland for free to criticize CCP to their face.

The irony being that ive been blocked from running for CSM in the past XD

Personally after looking at this current “mastery” set up.

I have some serious questions…is this an indicator of a deeper change? Since mastery in game is considered by most as a really unnecessary item.

The pricing also doesn’t jive with what came with an older bronze/gold/silver/platinum pack.

And the mastery V…IE $200 pack…which for some US players is going to be 220 due to current taxes on internet transactions. Really doesn’t sit well with me, because it really doesn’t seem like a value added pack.

I understand there are those on the CSM who are extremely opposed to packs. because they believe they will give too many players a quick way to accelerate their training past certain levels. But I think that kind of drive has been pushed by already hyper optimzied training regimes…and LSI [Large Skill Injector…penalties.]

Plus Massive drives to use multiboxing en mass is a problem for all of the player base to discuss.

However there are some major problems with this concept.
At this moment the Starter Packs are in the NES…but mastery packs are in EVE Store and Steam Store.

Here is another big headache. Career Packs…are junk to players who have already finished up the AIR program…but are a huge advantage to players who need certain components. Like the Glamorex which can be used to help with standing adjustment and gain.

Steam Players have a 3 Purchase advantage…although at this moment Its a weird Hybrid System. With Mastery Packs outside…and Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum Packs in the NES.

Steam Players/3rd Party purchasers, will have a larger starting bonus over their peers.
Which will exacerbate some arguments.

Also Pricing is completely out of wack with the new packs. $200 may seem like a deal if you were to invidually purchased items. But this is getting a bit too large for the game…and might cause some issues down the road.

But a Steam Player can now get $400+ of Mastery Packs.

And alot of the current materials in these packs also are not going FOMO…which will probably make peoples decisions on buying a pack all that easier…to not. Because there is no special item to be sold off to the player base.
