I have tried to complete a single assignment four times.
The first playthrough: I’ve completed a contract, but figured to stick around and complete another one. Game dropped me into the lobby in the middle of running.
The second playthrough: Completed a contract and decided not to stick around. Let it at least detect this one contract. Extracted, got to the summary screen and the game just crashed again.
The third playthrough: Completed a contract again, the game didn’t even load the post match summary.. It just dropped me on the login screen (the one with the “Connect” button)
The fourth time: Completed a contact once again, extracted, went past the post match screen, got into the lobby, but the game haven’t detected that I’ve done anything. I’ve tried to close the game and open it again - nothing.
Vanguard is not even remotely in a playable state, let alone ready to be tied with EVE event rewards.
You are correct. The entire event is pointless. ALL the rewards you would get for the points you earn are just cosmetic junk. Nothing of real game value. Eve seems to think that cosmetics are what make the world go round… useless junk. I have station containers full of cosmetic crap that will never see the light of day. I have no interest in events that do not offer concrete items that are useful.
Maybe you are right Drayor, Mike and I should stop gifting free ships and hand out 2 liters of Coke or Pepsi instead? Nah, from the looks of it few would appreciate the renal failure and diabetes.
cosmetics have no effect on gameplay. companies use them as income because somehow players have been convinced “bling” is better. The sad part about bling in Eve is that only the player using it ever sees it. To other folks, all other players are just blips on the overview. No clue who this “Mike and I” are, but there are zero ships or modules in the reward list of this new Nemesis event. every single point level is cosmetic stuff. All I am saying is that if folks are gonna grind event points, they should at least get a choice between “bling” and helpful stuff.
@Mike_Azariah and @Lusty_Lucy_Cybaritic give free ships away ( among others ) in this game. AFAIK they are just normal players like you or I, but instead of hoarding ISK like normal people, they give it all away. I suspect a hidden agenda in the works. No one is charitable and gives stuff away! The eyes of Amarr are watching you closely Mr. Azariah and you too Ms. Cybaritic.
It’s test. That is the point. Did you submit a bug report along with your PC’s specs?
SP is SP. And Arkombine skins are nice, I guess. Other than that, there is nothing else I deem relevant in the least. And I barely care about those. If you don’t care about the rewards don’t bother. If you do any PvE combat you’ll automatically do some of it anyway.
CCP thinks you should be happy with Crap you dont want or need, its Bots will be here in short order talking about how great the drops are and the skins are awesome……..
I apologize for the confusion and for missing the point in this thread.
I can see now that this event has a point - it’s a production grade test of integration between two games. The rewards are symbolic for participating in the test and gathering debug data. I don’t have a problem with rewards at all.
The only error in this event was communication. It’s not an in-game event, like Crimson Harvest or any other event (as stated in event’s FAQ), where you can expect everything to work. It’s a mass test event with participation rewards. That should have been communicated more clearly. When you launch an in-game event, players are expecting production grade stability at least. It can not be expected in this event, because Vanguard is not production ready.
Not the first time I have been accused of running the ‘long con’ but this November marks 11 years of Operation Magic School Bus being a thing. Maybe, juuust maybe you should consider that I might be who I say I am.

Of course, y’know, I might take part if this wasn’t yet another lame event where absolutely bloody none of it takes place in null as is obviously so painfully and predictably traditional.
There aren’t NPCs in Null? There aren’t squalls spawning in Null? That’s the event, that’s all there is. Most people farm NPCs, a few get lucky enough to be where the squalls spawn and fight over the can. It’s not much of an event, but it is very accessible to null.
