Verdis's Fit of the Week: Vexor

To each his own

I do mostly solo with no logi or backup when it comes to pvp, so

Case and point lol

Avoid dual fits on a Vexor like a plague… puke, puke. Vexor isn’t that kind of a flexible ship, especially after he was nerfed last year a bit on PG and so. He can be only a PVE or only a PVP vessel, he can be only a heavy tanked close range brawler or speedy distant kiter only. Therefore, Railguns with AB, Webifier, Disruptor, Ogre and x1 DDA are incompatible.

I performed a lot of Combat anomalies, Signatures and Expeditions in Low-Sec with a Vexor. The Vexor can perform only the easiest of them, otherwise you’ll miss or tank or dps. In Hi-Sec everything is doable except Vigils and Outposts (if to be more accurate, the Outposts are doable but very slowly and painfully).

Avoid dual fit in Low-Sec, because:

… and because they’ll drop a ‘Cyno bomb’ (True solo PVP issue in Low-Sec) on your head. You just need a tool to escape Cyno traps. But not with AB Vexor, not.

Here are the basics

Vexor is a slow Cruiser with decent mass and signature. Without a MWD you’ll fail horrible in PVP. You’ll like to PVP under a Cap Booster, Armor Ancillary Repairer, Web, Scrambler, one or better dual Neuts, a set of Hammerhead II and high tracking Warrior II. To defeat the opponent you need to hold him tackled under 10km range under high pressure of Neuts, Blaster DPS, Web and Scrambler. At close range you’ll switch drones faster to drone bay and back (in case if they’ll be targeted). Just imagine the flight time of drones while kiting at 20km. A kiting PVP Vexor fit is the worse case, the foe will dance a bit around you and when drones will fly like 5sec towards him, he’ll just warp away. To catch most opponents you need speed, a good speed, a speed of overheated MWD. A dude, which will try to tackle your ship, should have like very good tanking stats for doing it.

Avoid Hi-Sec PVP. Those are bite in most cases. Those ‘suspects’, loot stealers knows very well the max dps and tanking of their victims and they have a fully ‘rainbow’ PVP set. Therefore, or they’ll run a T2 Cruiser or better, or they’ll run a dirty Dual Rep or dirty Cap Stable PVP version with a full cargo of Cap Batteries, or they have a Logi/Jamer on a second window character, or his friends are somewhere nearby and waiting for Discord command.

The @Petrus_Blackshell 's fit is good. Here’s my version:

Hi-Sec rats are small and squishy. You just need some tools to track 'em good and burn fast, even those elite frigates with downgraded signature. Tracking is the best.

at a a glance im gonna say ditch the dda and switch the long point for a scram
youre going tackle heavy with that fit so drop to blasters and screw damage mods
go full tank on lows fit a second repper if you can
ditch the web and the battery and take cap boosters in mids to keep your repper going
also go full rep burner rigs
