Version 18.12 - General Feedback

I agree going further would be better but something is better than nothing, not worse.

I never said it was worse. I said it’s autoattack. And that it’s not enough.

The easiest thing to do would be to have the rat composition vary so that the same site doesn’t generate the same rats every time…and vary the rewards at the same time. So rats wouldn’t always have the same resit profile, sometimes you’d get reps and sometimes not, sometimes damps/neuts, etc. Sometimes you’d get 8 frigs vs one battleship, etc. The reality is that what makes PVE dull is the perpetual sameness which is actually quite easy to fix if CCP wanted to fix it.

Changing the autoattack process is much harder, a worthy goal but a lot heavier lift from a dev perspective.

bad. The easiest thing to do would be bad, just like CCP always trying to take the easy route has been bad for the last decade.

No, changing rat composition doesn’t increase engagement. Changing the resist profile doesn’t increase engagement. It’ll impact how you fit your ship, and it might slow you down some, but it’ll still be ‘autoattack and wait’.

Yeah, and it’s about time they got up off their asses and did it.

randomized rat spawns in anomalies would be a lot more interesting but i’m sure most will say there’s already abyssals for that.

Abyssals are instanced, not part of the sandbox. I’d have it in the sandbox.

Never make the perfect the enemy of the good.

Nice to see how you skirted around the exact following lines.

If we go by hours alone, the player would need 30h to pay for their 10 accounts, making it spending a single hour per day AFK ratting in each char to cover for their monthly expenses.

That doesn’t even consider the possibility of each of the 10 accounts already working as skill farms, and paying up for their Omega that way, with everything else farmed during the month being pure profits.

So yeah, not hard at all to mantain an operation of that size if you planned it well enough.

Again this point.

Does it suck that multiboxers who invested into training their chars have had their main income directly nerfed by this? Yep, and it’s understandable.

Do I sympathize with them being unable to HTFU and adapt to the change? Nope, zero sympathy.

If people keep saying that pressing F to command their drones to attack a target is too much effort, especially when running multiple accounts, I’ll just keep laughing at them.

I’m not. I’m making the good the enemy of the lazy. Every time CCP has tried to ‘twist some knobs’ and ‘tweak some numbers’, things have gotten more disconnected, more kludged together, and generally worse. Because their approach has been to adjust this thing here, or that thing there, in isolation. Look at the economy, bounties, and mining.

They spent almost two decades tweaking and twisting different things in isolation, different parts of space in isolation, and where did it get them? Now, finally, they’ve realized they need to approach the whole thing as an integrated system, and in order to do it, they’ve needed to tear things down to a huge degree so they can rebuild a more cohesive system with more of a chance to not get horribly screwed up over time.

The same thing is true of ship balance: they tweak and they twist, until they realize ‘well crap, this ■■■■’s horribly broken’. And then they twist and tweak some more, and wonder why none of their changes actually fix things.

They need to stop trying to put in the minimum effort needed to placate people for another quarter, and just fix their crap.

Which is no different from the guy with 1 account. Thus, my point: it doesn’t matter if he’s got multiple accounts, the problem and solution scale at exactly the same rate.

And, again, he could be skill-farming on that 1 account, too. Introducing 9 more accounts changes nothing.

I’m not saying you need to be sympathetic. I’m saying the anger you cited is misdirected. Aim it at the guys who told them to do it, for almost two decades. Because the players can’t change a damned thing, so getting mad at them doesn’t help anyone. You want a better game, demand better of the guys making the game.

>blames CCP for looking at things in isolation
>bases argument about subbing VNI alts in isolation
lmao

edit: got’em lmao

No, Scoots. In fact, at no point was I talking about VNI alts. I was talking about supers, and I was talking about supers because I was responding to a point being made about supers.

So nice try, but you know, next time, maybe get a single detail right, hey?

So, what’s the whole point of multiboxing then…?

If it’s the same, then just playing with one account from now on shouldn’t matter, right…?

The money beyond the minimum needed to get Omega, obviously. The only cost that scales evenly with the number of accounts you have is the cost of running the accounts. Everything after that, doesn’t.

I hope the pve drone assisting is unintended and going to get added back. I know several players that used this or were going to use this to lessen the impact of drone aggro removal. If this stays, these accounts have no use now and will just be unsubbed.

I play drone boats and pressing F to attack every single bloody target is just tedious micromanagement. My drones won’t even defend themselves.

When the ice belt respawns, is it within the same region, or anywhere in Eve?

2 hrs of reading later and short my take is…

Subbing by plex makes more $ for CCP then my subbing by the year. Good. If I had more time to play like I did 12 yrs ago when I started, I would plex as well.

Since drones have a tendency to not always target what I want, I press the key every time anyway so no change for me.

I only have 3 acct’s, the most I could manage in combat at once. I don’t play this game to relax, I play it for the adrenaline. Human opponents are the most sleazy, conniving and deceitful creatures on the planet. I have a ton-o-other games to play and relax while bs’ing with my friends or in my spare time. This is not one of them. So I guess I’m prejudiced and I’ll admit it. If you want to play afk or even semi afk and CCP causes you to leave, then all I can say is “can I have your stuff?”

I did not catch that part yet, that’s bad.

I like Scoots, he helps a lot of ppl in places no one bothers to read. That being said… Nice burn! :fire:

What about shattered systems? Are they completely gone or just are drastically reduced in spawn rate to alight with other systems? It sounds like wormholes lost alot of ore and I’m wondering that falls inline but got the increase to gas site yield, but certain varieties were reduced. I haven’t seen any ice belts while transiting through quite a few shattered wormholes since that was deployed.

Ice Sites

  • The spawn probability of all Ice Sites will decrease.

Likewise. For those who multibox sites using a drone assist that’s just multiplied the complexity.
and it wasn’t noted in the notes either, so… what do?

The dropdown is cool.

This is the info I sort of… visually filter for. System name mostly.

This is kinda confusing. It looks like nullsec system names

The double-stack of pods in the last version was useful too. slots 1-5 and 6-10.

This layout would be cool. At a glance I can see on a couple clones that like, the omega is missing, or there’s nothing in slot 7 or 9.

thaaaanks
