Please allow us to disable the new jump animation via current ‘Dynamic Camera Movement’ tickbox or something. Perhaps I’m a minority but the zoom effect is quite nauseating. The tunnel effect itself is nice though.

Also is there a particuala reason the ‘Home Station’ tab had to go between ‘Augumentations’ and ‘Jump Clones’ tab? It tends to be the two tabs you use together to confirm current clone and what you’re jumping into and ‘Home Station’ tab will probbaly see 0 use and feel like a change made by someone who doesnt use these options.

When they first made the warp tunnel, lots of folk requested a way to turn it off. Ccp ignored them. In time folk learned to live with it, mostly by ignoring it. Afterall, who stares at the warp tunnel more then one time? After hundreds of jumps, folk aren’t even looking at the screen anymore. It seems to me such a waste of dev resources to invest in something that will be just background noise in a couple of weeks.

I know my comment will probably get lost and in the grand scheme of things it probably doesn’t mean much as a little NPSI FC that does newbro roams, but this fleet finder is useless for those of us who do roams since the only time someone would see it is during the 15-30 minutes of staging. It’ll probably work the gatecamp fleets I host, or some BB fleets… but end of day the different community calendars offer way more value since we can schedule a date.

It’s a shame because this could offer a lot of value to new players looking to try to get into pvp.

Probably yes…
I still don’t see it in the patchnotes and adblock is disabled for eve site. Hmm that’s strange

Ty btw!

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Could you please help me understand why they would only see it during those 15-30 minutes?

unfortunately , the gankers are already using the new fleet function to join “public:” fleets and warp directly to hapless newbies. how can you explain to a new player that not everyone in the fleet is your friend? even if you have a NO FRIENDLY FIRE option all the gankers have to do is put 1 guy in fleet, once he is on the field. leaves fleet joins his buddies and boom. The newer players that joined because they thought they would be getting boosts are getting a sour taste for EVE instead. No clue how to make this better , but at least be aware it is yet another way for experienced pilots to take advantage of newer ones, especially the indy guys.
Also, we noticed that our alliance standing fleet shows up because we have a standings setting along with alliance setting. it was not intended for random blues to drop into fleet but for allowing quick response when needed. we need a way to exempt our fleets from showing as public…

NPSI is pretty much all pvp and a lot of it is roaming. So we stage in high sec and then go to null (or low) via thera, filament or directly. If we leave the fleet finder up when we’re deep into null, the chances someone gets to us alive is pretty slim. Maybe someone in a travel inty, or if there’s a thera nearby. My newbro fleets? There’s not a chance they’re going to make it out to where ever we’re located alive in a T1 dessie.

Not to mention that a pvp fleet is a time commitment. You can’t just come and go so people have to plan. That’s why we have the Spectre fleet calendar and a lot of us posts our fleets days to a week or more ahead.

If I put the time into using this tool (and I probably won’t because I have loads of things going on as FC in the first place) it would ONLY be up while people are Xing up and taken down the second we undock. On a good night we’re out in null in about 15 minutes from Xup time.

I could swear I was able to see more fleets in my fleet finder window previously.

Now I can only see 3.

Could you please put this option in the fleet options menu, like the other fleet options?

You should be able to create an alliance fleet. So instead of selecting the ‘Public access’ option, select the option above that says ‘Alliance’.

Thanks for the reply! That sounds like a fine way to do it, if you do have a channel then you can also just drop the link in there instead of having them x-up.

I found a fix for the red dot, stop logging in.

i think you missed the point on the alliance fleet thing. we have to have a standings setting or members of our coalition (neighbors) that are NOT in our alliance still need to join so they can help as responders. without a standings setting they cannot join. by default that makes us a public fleet as i understand it. we would like to be able to invite blues as needed, without showing as public. If i am understanding fleet setup incorrectly, please let me know.

New Alpha player here with some feedback.

  1. the new jump animations are nice and work well afaict, so that’s a plus.

  2. i play EVE solo due to not having much time and not wanting to be bogged down, so i won’t use the new fleet finder much; but i guess it’s a good thing for those that do.

  3. The negative thing about this patch is the removal of my clones’ ancestry - just WHY did you do that? Did the data really take up so much space on your servers that you’d have to remove it? Seeing how servers today have terabytes of storage, i somehow doubt it.

Ever since i started playing - and being a sci-fi & fantasy fan most of my life, i’ve been avidly reading the stories on your EVE Lore portal and i’d only want MORE of that, not less. I also want for my ingame characters to have a flavour and background, not just be 1 of 4 options.

Reading those stories, i began to dream up my own clones’ potential family history based on his ancestry, but now i can drop that since it’s “just another Gallente person”.

Seriously, you have a trove of sci-fi fiction here; you should do more with it, not cut it out of the game.

My 2 cents.

That gives it a tiny bit more utility. But it still doesn’t let NEW people really find and plan for upcoming fleets. And again, it has to come down at undock time because we can’t have randoms joining the fleet after we undock… ever try using a filament to escape when you have a fleet of 60 ticked off Gila pilots on your tail only to find out someone isn’t in the same location???

same issue, randoms joining fleets can also be awoxers.

The gate jump effect looks nice, ONCE.
The second time: hrmmpf.
Third time: How do i switch this OFF?
Fourth time: Gaaaaaah!

It makes it a “public” fleet for those with the required standings. Someone who does not have the required standings will not see your fleet listed and will not be able to join it through a link.
(which was also the case through “based on standings” in the old fleet finder). If this is not the cased, I would really like to know!

we have been talking about this with our friendly neighbors. it seems that the “my available fleets” option has displayed our alliance fleets whenever we had the standings function selected along with the alliance option. our discussion centered around recent awox incidents. what i have not articulated well is the desire to not make a fleet public just because the standings option is set, but rather to allow us to invite friendlies that we wish to have join. we would welcome an option in the fleet function that allows us to hide our fleets from public, or a way to add non alliance members by invitation only.
thanks for your consideration

For the last year they have been in “Butcher the player experience” mode. There’s something wrong with them, though I’m not quite sure what.
