They could be added, in fact that would be great, I would make yet another me. I wonder what a Triglavian corvette is like…
Fortunately, there are none of these, as they’d require three players in the same client, and one of those players would need to be IBM Watson. And Watson and the Brain Slug could over-rule the actual player at anytime.
Gotcha. Back to hunting for DZ!
Maybe. Maybe not. Legacy code . . .
The red dot was added…
Was it? Or was it a bug that nobody could figure out how to get rid of?
Its like a laser pointer used on cats, and like cats most of us hate it.
Yo I like that my camera tracks my desto when I jump into a system, but I HATE that I have to click drag in space to untrack it, then click drag again to move my camera.
EVE has historically been awful at doing what I tell it to (hotkeys are lmao tier and have been for like a decade) - can we not add to the janky garbage?
Stop drinking the kool aid.
I’m gonna die! That’s way too funny!
It would have been kind of cool to have some sort of passive unique bonus attached to the ancestory. Right now it makes the character creation sheet look rather sloppy and missing a hole.
It would have made choosing a nation then its various factions more interesting.
The Intaki especially I thought was interesting because one of their ancestory perks would have been getting Infomorph 1 if they worked on it.
I have nothing against those that like lore and role play, but most players just don’t give a ship. And the cool thing about role playing is that you don’t need a formal game mechanic to role play whatever you want. For example, the fact that you can’t create a non-capsuleer hasn’t stopped Komi Valentine from role playing as one.
No matter what CCP does, someone complains. They create new content, and people say that they should work on bugs. They fix bugs, and people say they should fix balance. Turns out players have different priorities and values, and CCP has to balance all of them in order to keep their player base happy.
Now, it’s at this point I would point to Pochven, and say there’s your new PvE. Now, stop giving them crap for not devoting 100% of their resources to your personal priorities. But they also seemed to have screwed the pooch with that one. So, maybe it’s not the best example at this moment at time. Regardless, they did well with the last live event, and we got another one coming up. Don’t know how newbro friendly it will be. But it will probably make a lot of the PvE’ers happy.
Yeah, so you’ll see a spectrum of player skill levels in all areas of space, and NS is no exception. Moreover, there are newbro friendly organizations in null, such as Pandemic Horde, Brave Newbies, and Karmafleet. Thus, nullsec is not some long term goal.
Now, NS isn’t for everyone, and I’m not saying that all newbros should go out there, but if that’s what newbros want to do, they should go and do it right now -no matter what their player skills, character skills, or wallet balance currently look like.
Edit: Oops. I don’t know how I hit reply to you Tiger. But yeah, zhalyd complains about everything. CCP could be giving out free blowjobs, and he’d still complain.
Where’s the enthusiasm? Not enough eye contact! CCP fails once again!!!
@CCP Dopamine.
Why didn’t you guys think to add a color swatch function to the save location markers? That would have been really really helpful.
Having all the colors available would have mean players could mark the star map with routes, and while in LS or WH they can mark Safes and Warp Outs.
Right now the icons although infinitely better than the tiny icons, are kind of hiding various things, and you get deluged with “snow blindness” because the icons look like other items in the Sensor Scanner.
Can you guys add a Color Swatch function to the Save Location, and Save Location Edit materials? It would be very helpful.
Thank you.
MILINT.
I very much like the new saved locations and blue home location icons. They weren’t so obvious before, they blended in the map but now they’re easy to spot.
Another positive.
Everything seems way slower. Opening up wallet loyalty points slowly populates a list of corps and LP, undocking in Hek feels like undocking in Jita, etc. Did the system requirements go up or something?
That’s a very interesting question.
After a somewhat recent microsoft update I started having terrible performance on my Nvidia GPU, Strangely switching to the Intel GPU fixed this and I find that odd seeing as its essentially terrible.
With the Nvidia I go from 6-8 FPS zoom up to about 60 and then sharply drop off again. With the Intel I’m getting well over 100fps with slight, and very smooth drop offs into the 60-80s.
This stuff effected everything, flying, opening windows and so on.
Microsoft broke a number of things lately, and I’m not sure how, or even if I can fix them.
So, different players have different values and priorities, and CCP has to keep everyone happy. Moreover, they don’t have infinite resources. So, they have to be selective about what they work on. They want to get the maximum amount of impact, for the least amount of dev time. Sometimes that means devoting a lot of dev time into jesus features. Sometimes that means fixing a bunch of little stuff just because it’s easy to fix.
Now, it does seems like CCP has been concentrating quite a bit on bug fixes and balance recently, but the game was also in serious need of bug fixes and balance. I mean, do you think that the game was in a healthy state? Regardless, I’d wager a guess that they’ll shift their priorities once we get out of resource scarcity. Thus the question becomes, “when will that happen?”
Stop ignoring what’s happening. Just because it doesn’t have an effect on your playstyle doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
My feedback on the new gate jump animations is that they are underwhelming. Not bad, but i thought they were cheesey. Like cartoonish.
I like the idea of public fleets for helping people find things like bombers bar and spectre. But I’m concerned about fleets that will be dishonest and try to get people into situations they can be ambushed. I have mixed feeling about this. This is something that should be able to happen, but i can also see public fleets being used as an excuse to ‘think of the children’.
There was a conversation on the forum about a yr ago that spoke of fleet finder as a way to help new players. No one was able to come up with a way to stop it from being abused. Maybe a rating system would help in the long run…
