I’m also having CPU issues. I’ve been multiboxing 11 toons without issue on a Ryzen 5 3600. Suddenly today, CPU utilization is at 100% and the lag is so bad that the game is unplayable. Thus, the CPU issues are not limited to minimized clients.
What am I supposed to do now? Stop treating Eve like a job, and go do something fun that only requires one client? lol. Actually, I think I’ll just take the night off. That grindstone isn’t going anywhere.
On that note… my computer froze solid just a few minutes ago. I was afk on phone call with four clients docked. Had to reboot… computer had been very stable for months…
Had the same issue. Following the Support Team advice, performed cache verification as described in this article, and the sound seems to be gone for good.
UPDATE: It reappears. The exact pattern yet uncertain.
Didn’t work for me. In fact it only takes one gate for the sound to persist during warp, docking, etc. At least the bug report now has an “attached” status
My client stopped working today. Deleted cache and cookies. Client now working but cannot get any chat channels to connect. Not great as I’m deep 0.0 and can’t see who is in local.
When is the CPU issue being addressed? Engineering standards would classify this as a high severity event, peoples CPUs are going to overheat trying to play the game. Is this really not worth rolling back and forward again?
Oh, this could be related, I was in fleet all time yesterday because it’s essentially required now for convenient probe scan warps and instadocks with the new formations.
Ah, apologies, the wording wasn’t very good; there was an issue where calls to gate cloaked fleet members weren’t being respected. Good call, I’ll clean those up.
World if enabled results in a very loud industrial humming sound that drowns out all other sounds. The loudest I can have World on now is 10. Anything above 10 obliterates all other sounds. Even music on 40 cannot compete with World on 20.
Even with World on 10 the hum is stupidly loud.
Advanced Audio Settings - Atmosphere controls this loud hum but I have never had to turn down either a) World or b) Atmosphere before to make the Audio bearable.
Also of note, the sound persists through docking, and ship changes. When docked I have the same incredibly loud industrial hum drowning out all other sounds
Surely interior Atmosphere should not make the same sounds as in space Atmosphere?
UPDATE: Clear Cache files and relaunch has fixed this. Will update if it happens again.
Confirming CPU issue: Running 20 clients is no different than before patch until the moment a fleet is started. From running at 65% cpu to complete system overload the moment i finish accepting invites, hoping this will be resolved as the game is unplayable in its current state.
