Since all these issues have been brought up in the test phase and none of which were improved, I hope you don’t hold your breath.
There is a confirmation window, if you’ve not turned it off already.
See CCP Swift’s comment on it.
Don’t blame PA for the ■■■■ that CCP does. Pearl Abyss is not telling CCP how the skill UI should look.
This is 100% on CCP and whoever was drunk enough to sign off on this disaster of a UI.
Problem is, with CCP’s inability to recognise when they have screwed up and pride in rewarding failure, said chap is probably going to be promoted. Cough, CCP_Rattati, cough…
just give us back the option to reduce all the skill headers to a single line again. there is no reason for them taking up most of my screen.
Singularity exists to make sure the game doesn’t literally explode. Anything beyond that is good enough to push live according to CCP.
As this being pushed live in the state it is in proves.
To all the people complaining about the new Skills Window/Character UI, and to @CCP_Habakuk / @CCP_Swift
Look at the feedback channel in the Test Server subforum. We told them ALL of these issues. The fact that the Skill UI is oversized and appears to be designed for a screen that 95% of the player based doesn’t have. That it is a decrease in usability over the previous incarnation. That is lacks actual information and stuff plane doesn’t fit. Look at the bottom right hand corner. Does that look like ANY serious QA has been done? I raised bug reports about it.
CCP clearly have literally 0 interest in any of this feedback, unless it is positive. They will not change it, they will not revert it. For all that its worth? CCP you need to fix your own internal processes, get your goddamn house in order - I am getting tired of seeing stuff appear on your Test Server a week, a fortnight before it goes live, and that is literally the finished version.
You ask us for our feedback, and we give it to you. We tell you what is wrong, what to tweak, how to make it better and more friendly. Hell we even give you alternative ideas. Do you even act on them? In this case all it looks like you have done is make the spaces around the UI a little smaller and made the text bigger.
What is the point in asking for it if you just ignore it? Did you consider players operating on 768 laptop screens? Clearly not because you actively made the Skill UI window 760 pixels high minimum.
Delaying something to work on it is NOT a failure. It is an appreciation that more development time is needed on it, and in doing so you might have a BETTER system for what you are intending to use it for. You then get a better reaction from players when they see that what they have said actually sodding matters - when they see that they are helping develop the game that they love to play.
If you want to talk to me CCP, talk to me. Don’t direct me to a CSM member, I don’t trust any of them further than I throw my printer.
I agree in the beginning it may be difficult for beginners, but what has now done the CCP is simply disgusting.
Why not leave the old version and add separate tabs for plans and say something for beginners. (Of course, it is poorly described, but I’m sure the CCP could have made a really cool interface, and not this vyser on which you spent at most a day, but it lay on the test for a month and still there is a big stinking bunch of bugs …)
As a person who has been playing since 2012, I will say this is a huge guano
ps And besides, I wonder why we need 2 skill buttons ?!
The least you could have done is provide a way to revert to the previous skill sheet. Given this, it would make up for the design choices. Look forward to see if they actually respond to the criticism.
Weird that the account cancellation page to turn off my omega sub is acting up and after entering the broken, crashy character sheet into it as a reason, it failed to accept my cancellation and looped me back to an empty form.
I am glad to see there is a hot fix for the character window:
now i just have to decide where to leave it… Sadly doens’t work with the skill window and sadly the skill window still looks like turd.
You’re right this wasn’t explicitly clear from the patch note but it should’ve been obvious they are talking about the mercoxit anomalies not the ihub ore sites
Hi,
Icone in the Neocom Menu is really too big (and so so horrible). We lose the windows rolling function with the “new windows system,” it’s really not cool when you are in fight and try to roll out the window…and finaly put it in full mode…
I find the skills windows too big, with polices bugs on 2K screen (too big and too many spaces between objects). The general apparence of the window skills is horrible too (objects seem to be “compressed” although the window is too big on the screen).
On the character info window, I prefere hidding the character than the window informations (what is the goal to hide informations ?!). Rolling possiblity disappear too :(.
I prefere having one window for skills and character.
Navigation is a little bite easier with new tabs.
At the time of posting that didn’t fix it, but does now.
Simply amazing these UI changes, and not in a good sense. @Brisc_Rubal will you be running campaign on Red Dot Removal Skill Window Repair now ? I wish you good luck, sir, but perhaps the entire CSM should chime in on this one.
It was nice to experience that the team dealing with art and visuals in the game did respond to feedback a few months ago.
The team that handles the UI changes, however, does not, not one single iota. The graphical implementation lacks any realistic i.e., game experience related vision, creativity and, as one person demonstrated, originality. It follows the same line as the red dot disaster.
That is a pity, because I think the skill plans have real potential, if only CCP would take in the many pages of constructive criticism the player base has contributed in the test server feedback thread.
Why does it seem every company is incapable of adding new features without drastically altering the aesthetic for no good reason?
How hard would it have been to simply add a skill plan tab to the already existing skill window and keep the same look, font size, resolution options, etc.? Why put extra work into making something worse.
As they say, I see the goal, I see no obstacles, but the opinion of users …
CCP where is my Toon Spin Counter! and why does the Imicus still look like a 16-color 3 polygon windows 3.1 Doom potato demon with a kickstand? hmmm?
losing the rolling window option too
Skill plan links should have their own color
