Sure you can. Just @ them here. Talking to CCP isn’t at all difficult. Getting a response from them is less assured.
Actually, I suspect it’s there to give people a way to connect with their character.
And before you say “No-one cares!”, remember there’s survivor bias at play. The people who have, so far, stuck around in Eve, haven’t needed that link (because it didn’t really exist). CCP get to see why people say they leave. And oh so many have left (The drop off for newbies is pretty significant. CCP have talked about it in at a number of their events. Like the world tour ones.)
Even an uptick of 1% would be a significant change.
Well that 139 v 1 then ,… wanna wait untill it hits to 300 v 1 ?
What is your point here honestly ?
Even it was 100 v 1 does it cahnge the reality that VAST MAJORITY of the player base not agree with him?
What is your point ?
Else than saying “ you commenting alot “
And number you give is wrong “
IDEA is right man , and gap growing more and more … IDEA is important there …
I dunno. Colours can match reasonably
(and there’s plenty of cheap clothes for isk after all. Every omega pilot got multiple sets recently)
Utter trash. That is all. The new UI looks like a 12 year old coded it in HTML…
I play on a 34" ultra-wide monitor, 3440x1440 mode. It’s a hot mess for me. Not as bad as for some people (I don’t seem to get as much overlapping/truncation as some others are seeing), but still an absolute disaster.
If only that joke didn’t just trigger the fourth item in the second row in your HUD…
To be fair, it’s a pretty serious one. Skills can be expensive, especially if you’re a new player - a single skillbook could easily wipe out weeks of isk accrual for a new enough player.
A tip for anyone suffering from poor performance with the characters. On the graphics settings screen you’ll find
It should make a difference.
It’s also not ‘that’s what he chooses to acknowledge’, but ‘that’s what he’s got something to report back to us about’. He can’t exactly tell us ‘all these other issues will be dealt with’ if the devs haven’t told him anything.
But how does a bug like this even exist?
Are you not using a standard set of code (a function, if you will) for drawing windows (or a limited number of pieces of code, I get that you may want to change the UI gradually)? Any piece of code that’s due for re-use should be tested to the moon and back (because the scope for it messing things up is high). If you’re writing new code to display every window, I literally have no words for that kind of stupidity.
Are you not actually testing this stuff yourselves?
It took the community literally MINUTES to pick this stuff up. As a “Senior Quality Assurance Analyst”, can you please explain to us how usability failures like this have made it through CCP processes, and what you’re doing (you personally, as well as CCP) are doing to prevent it from happening again (and again, and again, and again - sadly it’s an easily trackable behaviour pattern).
As for the excuse that “if you had the launcher open, it may not have worked properly”, I’m sorry, but that’s been an issue for years now. Perhaps it’s something that CCP should fix. And while you’re at it, maybe fix the fact that the bloody launcher doesn’t actually close when a user closes it - it’s only contributing to this problem.
I can’t quiet get my head around what you are saying here.
It’s a new window with mobile game tablet styled UI (suitable for my thumbs not a cursor point), has less information displayed compared to the original (unless its full screen) and is another unstackable window. There may be some CSM presented information or goal here that we don’t know but it sure is not coming across in the mess that is this new skills window.
The skill window, that’s one thing.
The character window is a new example of disconnection between UI devs and players: you allow for the collapse of the portion that actually holds all the information and the data players need, and keep the pretty but completely useless full body character view - which would fit well on a smartphone. This does seem very out of touch - it should be the other way around. And in case it wasn’t a case of “lost in translation”, please introduce character spinning.
But let’s not kid ourselves. The current UI changes try to serve both smartphone (Eve Echoes) and PC (EvE Online) screens, don’t they. And it doesn’t work, does it, because for PC users it’s always a step back.
Correct. Though I personally don’t see the value in skill plans, I can understand how they would help many people, and their inclusion in the game as an option is a great idea.
Alpha characters are an interesting one. They exist at CCP’s discretion to start with, I assume (haha, to assume is to make an ass of u and me, mostly me) that CCP are tracking conversion rates from alpha to omega, and thus will know if this change has a positive impact on the game for them in terms of income, or at least lengthens the amount of time alpha characters are actually playing (actively in game) and thus being more people in the game as ‘content’ for their paying customers.
I don’t think it’s entirely without merit - but the faults by far outweigh any sort of improvements, so far as to actually invalidate them at this stage.
I was idling in E-Uni chat for most of the day, and saw maybe two dozen people complaining about the new character sheet/skill queue.
I observed one (1) person compliment it, but I’m pretty sure they were just trolling someone who wouldn’t stop talking about how bad it was.
Seems pretty skewed to me.
For those of us that are laptop users, it’s even worse. The old window with the option to resize it was really important. Now a portrait literally covers 30% of my screen. Where before the hole menu took up less than 50%. Now I can only use it on full screen. No more checking my skill q while traveling… It would be really awesome if we could have the option to use the old menu. Kinda like the setting to use the new/old ingame map.
same happened to me. sure, i put an ignore before because i normally do not missclick in menues and u could see all info while clicking it. now u cannot see any info, so i clicked it expecting a window to open or sthg. the red insta buy button is actually completly useless and even dangerous for rookies. noone will ever use that, because u cant see the cost. so u have to rightclick the skill, go to info and hover over the good old blue cross button for that. so u can also use that to buy… who ever designed that crap should not get paid…
Dear CCP,
Worst thing I read all day - that you are going to add this wonderful game to the toxic and worthless Epic Game store (IMO). Bad CCP. Good intentions, but choice.
Apparently there is also no limit to the Alpha skill queue. You can set a skill queue for a year on an Alpha alt now. I bet the SP farmers are going to love that. Start up 1,000 Alpha accounts, set the skill queue for a year, and never log into it again…
