Yeah I was right clicking on the system tray icon and selecting Exit. This removed the icon and when I tried to start up the launcher again it flashed the CCP logo then did nothing. I had to go to task manager and kill the process before I could start the launcher again. Fully repeatable and happens 100% of the time.

Regarding the new Skills window:
-
It doesn’t show me how long the skill level will take as it used to on the old screen. Have to put it in the queue to see the length of time.
-
There doesn’t seem to be a way to see how much a new skill book will cost until I actual click to buy it. That’s not helpful.
So, to say this simply. the skill update has been a terrible idea.
you removed the simplicity that made skills a quick and easy piece of information that could have been dropped at the moment, but now you have covered my entire screen with a 3d model of my character and removed most of the useful information that we use on a regular basis. we wish for a quick access window to use as we kill one another. thanks
Why are the character tab buttons fixed size yet does it cut off the last button when I use the smallest window size for the character sheet? That could have been done better.
Either make the minimum width of the character sheet a bit bigger (no please, it’s big enough already) or reduce the width of the tabs (preferred).
I’d like to add to this list:
No border on the skill window when you select to reduce it’s size = FAIL
Massively huge screen-greedy UI = FAIL
Breaks ability to drag items and names in chat = FAIL
Huge gap between skills and training queue = FAIL
Can’t see price of untrained skills and clicking them just buys them without asking = MASSIVE LOLOMGWTFBBQ FAIL (someone should be fired for this)
I’d like to add to this list:
No button to hide or show character picture. Resulting in either a multiple second load time or inability to see net worth (based on which mode you were in pre-patch). = FAIL
It’s what it once looked like. They changed it to be vertical instead of horizontal, and now changed it again.
WOW CCP just of late it’s very hard to find something that is actually meaningful and good in the changes that you do but i must hand it to you this change with the skill que and the new look. well done you have really f----d it all up. go back to the IDIOTS who developed it and sack them. biggest heap of crap ever developed. no wonder EVE is falling apart at the seams, but well done this can be added to the industry rubbish that you think is best. how can this be a sandbox game when we can only accept the changes you decide.
And nobody in their infinite wisdom thought of making it a toggle? The new skill UI is objectively inferior in every regard:
Wastes space, too much gaps, not clean or coherent. And not only that, you waste all that space to hide information that was previously a mere glance away.
Double-warning about missing skills is completely and utterly obsolete. I already know a skill is missing a level by looking at the skill, and a prerequirement of a succeeding skill NOT SHOWING UP IN THE FIRST PLACE. I refuse to believe newbros are so dumb they can’t count 1+1.
It’s a UI designed for tablets, but this isn’t a tablet-game. And it will never be one, no matter how much you like to lie to yourself.
And why seperate the sheet from skills? You could have easily implemented the skill plans into the superior form of character sheet by merely expanding it, and just simply remove the 24h Alpha queue limitation.
Whoever designed this “new and improved” skill UI fails as a UI designer, objectively. No exceptions.
I havent seen this before …on top of forum…
So is that mean alll these feedbacks you guys writing here about UI actually invalid ? And it will be perfect if you already updated ?
I am confused
Transparency of the skills window is too high.
I like a little transparency, which makes all interfaces easily readable but also shows what’s happening behind it. My UI transparency is setting at 31/100, (of which 100 would be maximum transparency).
As the skills window is huge and only a temporary element on my interface, it’s going to be in front of other UI elements when I open it. But if there is a little transparency (not a lot, the slider can go much further to the right!) this means the skills window becomes pretty chaotic and unreadable, as shown in the picture below.
(Transparency too high, clearly)
My suggestion: significantly reduce the default transparency of the skills window. Or remove the transparency.

This. All of this UI is “big buttons so my thumbs can hit it”.
It would look great on a tablet or phone. But this is a PC game and we can use a mouse to click little buttons. Please make more efficient use of our precious screen space. For one,
we should be able to see all skills of a category at once without scrolling.
at the very least, please sort out the tool tips for the skills, please return the sp/m value back and time untill trained.
discusting UI.
OMG the new Skill UI is TERRIBLE. The character info I can live with. Took me some time to find my clone information etc (WHY is the information hidden by default ?), but the new skill display looks like a webpage from the 80s … flat, too big and missing functionality that was there previously …
Sorry for the rant but this was not a pleasant surprise. Is there a way to get the old version back ? Like we have 2 MAP interfaces ?
Nope, it’s got nothing to do with the UI ingame. It’s a launcher problem. The stuff about the new UI stuff ingame is completely valid and unrealted.
Why fix what isn’t broken >.< GG CCP

The main issue with UI changes always seems to be that the Devs seem to work with 4k screens and adjust the UI for that, forgetting that most ppl use 1080p and some laptops have even less.
Beyond that it needs a few iterations.
