Version 22.02 - Revenant - Known Issues

Thank you for the answer, but it will be better try to fix it definitly, it is not the first game client with whom I have this problem, it is something that has happened since the development of the new audio environment.
It is disturbing in combat situations (forced to remove the camera from the ship or cut the sound)
In space, no one can hear you shout (I know :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

lol, You have the one where the whole thing freezes in the jump gate animation, but loads the windows of the UI so you can warp around, get tethered (thankfully) etc, but forever see nothing but the jump gate animation? That’s a fun one :stuck_out_tongue:

Indeed :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:, I guessed a moment after it was due to a lack of data whose download continued in the background.
One more, I forgot the one where the ship warp indefinitely, not possible to get out of the animation, forced to kill the client and go back

CCP please fix pathing. After the patch some paths in The Bleak Lands not being displayed properly.
For example, current location Junsen → destination Hatori there is high sec route, but Router does not display available route, and no yellow gate appear, until you jump to Ronne

The new launcher does not work under Linux. Only by deleting the folder (app-1.10.x) and therefore using the old launcher (app-1.9.4) it was possible to start the game.

If you are doing the SOE Epic Arc and you choose Bag of Blood as one of the diverging paths, then you are forced to go to Laurvier through Attyn, both of which are currently under Insurgency.
GG CCP.

Issue starting game client after update.

Running Linux with Wine Bottles
everything worked fine until this last update

Launcher starts, but client fails to start
error code:
Execution of DirectXRedist.exe failed (exit code 9009)

In the launcher I looked for the directX selection, but I am unable to select 11 or 12 (not selectable)

@CCP_Bee - do any of your current devs even think about the actual practical implications for new players when adding new material? How it interacts with long established elements of the game? Have any of your current devs actually played, say, The Blood-Stained Stars? Specifically aimed at new players? If on Monday morning you said, “The Blood-Stained Stars” in the office, would they answer, “The Epic Arc, yeah, what?” or would they say, “What a cool name, let’s add something called that to the game…”?

the insurgency doesn’t last forever, risk it (you only need a super cheap ship for this arc) or wait.

That is not the point. You know that. I know that. But new players, for whom this arc is specifically designed, do not. I really get irritated when people come on here and dismiss asinine and careless design by CCP as “not really a problem”. Yes it is, if it spoils the game for even one new player who might have stayed. Once they are established, they will not worry about such risks. But that is not the point…

2 days with very long login limbo again. After weeks of abstinence, we are back in the good old poor tech stack quality days.

i would never defend CCP lol, but there is nothing preventing new players from completing it to be honest.

victim X here learned about a for him unknown danger in the game, insurgencies.
they can basically happen anywhere, and can be hard to notice if the only affected system in your route is your destination…which i do think is kinda messed up.

heck when i came back to the game i was surprised too when i ended up in a bubble in low sec.
but that is a part of the game now…hi sec can turn into low sec and low sec into null.

I have the same problem. I play Eve Online in Linux via the Steam client using Proton. Launcher wouldn’t start, renamed the ‘app-1.10.x’ folder to ‘Xapp-1.10.x’, so the game cannot find it and force it to use the ‘app-1.9.4’ folder with the result of the launcher working again thanks to @Bleine_Deninard 's helpful post. Appreciated! Please do not discriminate the Linux bros, ccp? Thank you.

I’m thinking when support for Windows 10 ends and there being a lot of computers not capable of upgrading to Windows 11, there might be a bunch of new Linux users. We’ll see.

15+ years of playing EVE, I don’t think I have the ‘what it takes’ to keep fighting to be able to play anymore.

Aye, influencer PewDiePie has already transferred to Linux… :backhand_index_pointing_down:

like i care what any influencer says.

Fix/?? for Linux Bottles (Wine) -not fixed, just able to work with DirectX 11 now.

Restored a previous working bottle of EVE from Mar 2025
Started client
new eve version downloaded
new client downloaded
started EVE (without restarting client for the new version down loaded)
EVE worked
restarted wine bottles
used new client version (fresh version, they must have fix/changed/unchanged something..)
Now I can select DirectX 11 (did not need to)

I think CCP un fixed something that made this be able to work… they should have said something!
