Version 24.01 - Cradle of War - General Feedback

You can switch them off in notification settings btw. They’re hiding under “miscellaneous” pretty far at the bottom.

What is not nearby about 5 jumps away?

The Upwell transport alerts.

Yes, but if they are 5 jumps away they are nearby, no?

I guess your and my definition of “nearby” are somewhat different. To me, “nearby” denotes in an adjacent system.

Blimey, what a small corner of New Eden you inhabit.

Is the target switching in homefronts what you aimed to achieve with this fix? Because now rats are shooting on random stuff no focus whatsoever. In AAR is it normal no drones to also get aggro?

I tried smartbombing earlier, but the NPCs kept moving away a bit too quick and weren’t nearby enough for me to hit them!

But when it comes to content in space ‘nearby’ to me means I can get there reasonably fast and back to do something there during a short play session.

Systems in my region are nearby to me. Parts of the nextdoor regions too.

(All of this Cradle of War stuff in Empire space on the other hand is not nearby to me and as such very irrelevant to me.)

Today “nearby” was greater than 10+ jumps, so I think we just get an alert whenever (wherever) they appear.

OMG 10 whole jumps?!?!?

Wow, so far o.O

I said greater than 10. Maybe you don’t know how long it takes at 3 AU/sec, but it’s upwards of 20min… And that’s just to show up and find out everything is farmed/over.

Plus those annoying dings…

I think Lucy has you on this one.

It’s subjective to each players playstyle apparently.

To me, near is the length of the old pipe. And after thinking about it for a moment, I came to realize I enjoyed the new pipe even more? I got to screw with more players, so it was a win for me so I didn’t mind it so much.

I don’t want to turn them off, I want them to work properly. Even if I turn them off in the Widget, they still shadow spam my Communications and my widget. I just looked back at the client and the widget showed 5 new things but when I opened the Notification widget, it had 0 new items.

Thank you for the new background, very welcoming addition to our customisation options.

Visions of Greatness Epic Arc is still unfair for players trying to get the time bonuses in the Caldari section, which is the first section players encounter.
A 4-minute time limit to jam 5 targets is way too short a time or way too many targets.
That’s 240 seconds and the cycle time of the provided Multispectrum ECM is 20s.
So we have 12 cycles to land 5 jams with a very weak ECM module. This puts the time bonus entirely in the hands of the RNG gods and is deeply unfair. Time bonuses should be dependent on player skill, not random chance.
Fix it.
Same goes for the very next objective of saving the Caldari transports. Again we are given a pathetically weak remote shield boost module barely able to repair a tiny amount of shield as the transports are very quickly annihilated by far too large an enemy force. I’ve even tried ECM-ing the destroyers to get their fire off the transports, but again the ECM is piss weak and the cycle time is so long that you only have the time to perhaps jam 2 targets, if you’re lucky. This again is unfair.
You cannot possibly be expecting new players to micromanage ECM-ing destroyers, perhaps killing frigates and remote repping the transports all at the same time?
Fix it.
Strangely, the Minmatar, Amarr and Gallente sections are all super easy and some of the time bonuses are effectively impossible to fail.
So why do you rage bait players with the Caldari section being so unfair?
Whilst we’re at it, for god sake get some voice acting done. Get devs to record lines on their lunch break or something. Having to read 10,000 boring dialogue pop-ups featuring dozens of different characters during a time-constrained battle is awful game design.
And there is way, WAY too much just sitting around “waiting for the simulation to progress”
Players are left just sitting there doing nothing but waiting. This is awful. Speed it up.
And could you PLEASE embed the excellent faction intro videos you made into the mission descriptions? Why put the effort into making such superb videos then not put them in-game in an epic arc which is supposed to be introducing players to the factions?
Seriously.
Pull your fingers out.
Make an effort.

Did the font of the agency change last patch or am I imagining it?

Time bonuses are for experienced players not new players, they will bring green t2 jammers (yes multiple of them) and have it done in less than a minute.
