From launcher version 1.15.3:
Add: Starting the Launcher via Steam now selects your Steam-linked account as the active user
Sorry, but this is a complete anti-feature for anyone who migrated from standalone to Steam. How do I disable it?

Do you liked it cropped? ![]()
Of course not. That needs an immediate attention.
The colors do mix well though. ![]()
Hello Capsuleer, GM Hrdricz here.
Thank you for contacting the EVE Online Player Experience Team.
While EVE has evolved over the years to provide new pilots with a slightly different starting skill set to help them get into the action faster, we are unable to manually add these skill points to existing characters. Skill progression is a core part of the New Eden experience, and granting free skill points would bypass the natural progression all pilots undergo.
If you wish to bring your older characters up to speed without deleting them, here are a few tips:
Daily Alpha/Omega Rewards: Be sure to log in daily to claim rewards, as these often include unallocated Skill Points that you can apply directly to those missing skills.
Skill Injectors: You can acquire Skill Injectors from the in-game market using ISK. These are a great way to instantly boost a character’s skills.
Training Queue: Most starting skills are at lower levels (Level I-III) and can be trained relatively quickly through your normal training queue.
Please feel free to reach out to us again if you need any assistance.
Best Regards,
GM Hrdricz
Fenris Creations Player Experience | EVE Online … why didnt all accounts get GRANDFARTHERED skill ponts in the same areas ???
have 8 alts that were just rookie cyno alts … if i killed them off and started new toons they get a better start … how may ALTs dont get used ? the Power of ALTS ad .. yet (CCP) wont even playing feild for alll !
^ We need more of a frame of reference here…
They have all of the above available to them…
It’s not needed to shift the portrait to the right in order to make them fit the info window. The portrait is displayed in its full size for 1 second before it gets resized. It’s clearly visually detectable. The whole portrait fits into the current info window just fine. This unnecessary dynamic resizing/zooming in needs to go! Nobody asked for this. Seriously, Fenris, nobody in the game asked for their portrait to be partially removed!
Yea, it can look pretty good once this cropping issue is fixed!
Where do we complain about launcher updates?
The latest update rolled out today (1.15.3) not only makes me do an extra click on every launch from now on - because yes i launch via steam but no i do not want to use my steam account in the launcher.
And yes that was an intentional change. It’s in the changelog. Why would anyone ever want their launcher to default to their steam account? Do we look like single-boxers?
It’s also highly inconvenient re QOL if you’re cycling through launching a few dozen clients sequentially (like, you know, for every event login track like right now…) and close the launcher at any point. Because it used to remember at which one you were so you could just go to the next one. Now it doesn’t.
The update also managed to reset my window mode settings on the launched clients for first launch after, but only if launching on the same monitor as the launcher. Like, what? How do you even do that. It should be grabbing that from the launch profile.
On a side note the settings page in the launcher - which has always been slow - now takes a full 17 (!!!) seconds to switch between any two tabs. I timed it. You know you’re supposed to only read a config file in performing that switch at most, not the whole Eve client?
Based on the reply he got he asked them to give his alts free SP to make up for the fact that new toons nowadays get like 300k SP of faction-based starter skills. Presumably they’re also all above the alpha cap.
And for those he mentions later presumably he was looking to push them above 5.5M so he could extract their cyno skills.
This crappy event spams me with Notifications, which do not open the Communications window, but spam Communications in that window as well, which are all empty
#CCPQualityCoding
Also note that “nearby” could mean 5+ jumps away… through low-sec.
You can switch them off in notification settings btw. They’re hiding under “miscellaneous” pretty far at the bottom.
What is not nearby about 5 jumps away?
The Upwell transport alerts.
Yes, but if they are 5 jumps away they are nearby, no?
I guess your and my definition of “nearby” are somewhat different. To me, “nearby” denotes in an adjacent system.
Blimey, what a small corner of New Eden you inhabit.
