Vibe coding?

So, is CCP vibe coding a bunch? The number of silly bugs is increasing wildly. The HUD refused to stop saying I had AIR daily goals rewards waiting for me, for weeks. I did everything up to and including reinstalling, and it didn’t stop. Then it did, randomly. It only affected one character on my account. Now it’s not happening to me, but my wife has it happening on one of her characters. She also often has “undocking” never go away.

Every time I log in, antialiasing is turned off. If I turn it on, it’ll remain for the rest of my session.

Earlier this week, one of my skill queues turned off despite my MCT being active. I couldn’t activate another one to extend it.

Just now I had a mission tell me I needed ten militants in my cargohold. I had them. Couldn’t turn the mission in. Went back, and got a second transport. No good. Went back and killed the rest of the room, despite “clear room” not listed.

All these state machine bugs make me wonder if CCP is vibe coding now. Did they fire everyone who knows the codebase? I don’t remember Eve ever being this buggy in the past. I still play and I don’t plan to stop any time soon, but wow this is a lot of bugs.

It might be nice if there was a public bug tracker we could follow. We fire issues into the abyss and hear nothing. The support reps can’t help - either they don’t have visibility into bugs, or there’s some Secret Squirrel policy that won’t let them offer bug status.

I’ve gotten my family into the game now, and two of us are maintaining Omega accounts, but I really want to see some of these quality issues addressed if we’re going to maintain our footprint, let alone expand it.

Winter is coming…

I’d love to get insight in the status of the bugs I reported.

I just don’t think all bugs should become public, this is too easily exploited.

Security through obscurity is no security at all.

I agree, but I would say it’s better than the suggestion of publicizing all the vulnerabilities.

I believe (going off memory) that you need to eliminate the “trigger” ships - despite having the requisite militants in your cargo.

I ran this particular mission… 3-4 times yesterday? I always carry around 50-60 militants to turn in so I don’t have to waste additional time tractoring wrecks in.

You can have different graphic profiles setup for each character, ie: settings, window position, shortcuts, UI, etc.

Yeah, that appears to be the case.

Indeed, but these settings seem to reset constantly. I’m probably going to blow all the storage away and start from scratch. There’s just so much fiddly stuff that’ll take a week to reset! Window sizes and locations, drone groups, overview tabs and content.

It didn’t occur to you that maybe different bugs could have different levels of visibility? That’s how most places that create software do it.

Worst case, just let people see their own bugs. Anyway, my suggestion wasn’t meant to be a puzzle.

While in-game to help clear out and hopefully remove small annoying bugs:

Esc menu > Reset settings tab > Clear all cache files

That will prompt a relog…
Before relogging back into the game:

Launcher settings > Eve Online tab > Verify game files > Remove unused files

It’s a good idea to always do this after a game patch update has been downloaded… That will take a little bit of time to complete… Probably a good idea to also verify that your computer and drivers are fully updated…

Afterwards just log back into the game and hopefully some of those little annoying bugs have been removed…
