Volatile Hulls

Add the option to make ships volatile and their wrecks will not spawn when destroyed.
No loot for anyone, but the cost of making a hull volatile will be roughly 10x the base mineral cost in isk. This means T2, Faction and T3 ships extremely cheap to make volatile, while discouraging making capitals volatile.
By making ships volatile, it provides both a mineral and an isk sink, as well as encouraging people to use more shinies on their ships. Plenty of people like myself are fine with losing bling if it means nobody else gets it but I rarely ever fly with bling precisely because I can’t stand the thought of other people taking my shiny loot. Many people use blingy fits in the Abyss because it’s both necessary as well as nobody else can take their loot if they happen to die.
This also may unfortunately result in suicide ganks being less profitable, but the upside is that it will cost most freighters 10b to make their hulls volatile, and since no loot is dropped it’s both an isk and a mineral sink. Even if the gankers don’t profit, they still are isk positive.
TL;DR
I don’t want poors touching my shinies

No. Go away.

a ship explodes. explosions cause wrecks. could ya please consider that things in the universe still have to make some sort’a sense? not having wrecks makes no sense. i’m aware there’s stuff out there that doesn’t make sense, but not having a wreck is seriously pushing it. if ya don’t want people touching your private parts maybe ya shouldn’t be exposing them.

Exactly, that’s why i never fly with bling. I’m also the one looting all of horde’s blingy kills but i’m saying we can both deny loot as well as create an isk sink. Isn’t that a win win? Eve is about destruction, not nabbing shinies.

so yer saying it’s not about nabbing shinies when it comes to others, but when yerself are doing it then it’s fine? yer saying it’s about destruction, yet don’t want wrecks to be created, and yer thinking that makes sense?

i don’t think so. i’m actually thinking yer just trying to use whatever argument you find that might be working in your favor, not getting that they’re not even helping ya fuckall. would ya please show us the kill mail that got ya into this train wreck of a mental state?

yer nabbing shinies and yet don’t want others to nab shinies from ya.

what does that make you?

i never lost a ship with shinies, to reiterate

I love nabbing shinies, but it’s way too profitable as is. I can make better isk than when i was carrier ratting than i can now, just stealing loot in an instawarp frigate. If hulls don’t drop loot, nobody, including myself, gets loot. Just for reference, depending on the size of the fleets whenever a goon jackdaw fleet comes into pocket in the 10-20 mins of fighting i can nab roughly 20 caldari navy med shield extenders, or 200m. When there’s a large fleet fight involving huginns, usually i get at least 500-600m from faction webs and faction large shield extenders.
And to top it all off this is all with an alpha account with nav 3 trained, literally creating a new alpha account can easily accomplish this

when yer nabbing shinies there’s no new isk created beyond insurance he’d be getting, so there’s no problem with it being lucrative. afk vni ratting deserves to die, because people ain’t willing to put any effort or actual risk into isk making.

yer basically asking for punishment for those who put effort into making money, while all the lazy, scared jackasses in their safe havens farming isk for their rmt are perfectly fine doing fuckall to get it.

what yer doing is fine. keep doing it. it’s smart. most people are too dumb or scared to do it themselves. ya deserve this and it ain’t hurting the economy one bit, because nothing new’s generated out of it.

I like shinies…

:smiling_imp:

No, ten times no.

And please, for Pete sake, stop saying that because something cost a lot in ISK or materials, only the elite will be able to use it, it’s idiot. Just look at the ressource production of Delve. Not only the Goon will field entire fleets of volatile supercapital, but even more : what would be the point to assemble the massive fleets required to take down a Titan that is always assured to drop good loot (even T2 capital modules are worth the weight) if there is no wrecks ?

Also, adding the possibility to delete wrecks will hurt the salvage market, since massive capsuleers battles leave behind the best wrecks in the game.

I don’t understand why everyone is under the impression i took some massive loss and i lost some shinies. To reiterate,

I just believe that looting is too profitable as is. I’ve somehow made my way up from nothing, never buying subscription either, in the span of a single year. Looting is so profitable that it enabled me to inject into a carrier char (sold now) and purchase AT ships, Faction forts and faction caps. What i’m proposing will negatively impact my own experience, but the reason is there it’s too easy to make isk through looting.

lol if 2+ bill is extremely cheep to you then you can afford spreading that wealth when you die

besides base idea is crap

Poors don’t deserve my shinies

this idea can be expanded to include pi materials/t3 materials too

… no base idea as in the entire underlying idea is crap. if you are so worried about ppl getting items you’ve lost anyway follow yourself around and ninja your own loot or in something that can pop your own wreck quickly.

what yer missing is that there’s no need for nerfs, because there’s no problem with it. yer making no sense. if ye asked for nerfs for afk vnis THAT’d make sense, because they make tons of money effortlessly and inject a shitton amount of isk into the economy. these wankers are making more isk than yerself if ya count the amount of effort and risk. yerself, on the other hand, are actually working and not injecting any isk at all.

yer claims make no sense. more and more it’s looking like yer hating that there’s people who can make more money than the ■■■■■■■ afk bots in their vnis in null sec. let me spell it out for you, perfectly clear:

YOU WANT TO NERF AN EMERGENT ACTIVITY THAT DOES NOT HARM THE GAME, WHICH IS ONLY DONE BY A MINORITY OF PEOPLE! IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MUCH ISK YOU ARE MAKING THIS WAY, BECAUSE IT DOES NOT INJECT ISK INTO THE ECONOMY, WHICH MEANS IT IS NOT A PROBLEM! THE ONLY WAYS MONEY MAKING CAN BECOME A PROBLEM IS WHEN TOO MUCH ISK IS BEING INJECTED INTO THE ECONOMY, WHICH IS NOT THE CASE WITH WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

and people wonder why i rather talk to my corpses. i’ve got zero doubts that yer having some ulterior motives but for the ■■■■ of me can i not figure out what it is, unless it’s just a stealthy “nerf gankers” thread, which’s actually the most likely of all likelihoods.

Actually, I do have ulterior motives. I dislike poors, they are too desperate for loot and they keep complaining to directors when i steal loot faster than them. If there was no loot for them in the first place, then they would sit and rot away

10x the base cost of a frigate would be about 5m, that would mean every single t1 frigate that dies with a volatile hull provides a 5m isk sink. This could become a massive isk sink, especially with blingy faction titans and supers. It’s also a huge material sink, because by destroying all cargo and loot a lot of materials just go poof.
